I love going to that place. I wish I could get back in to the shop though.

I like the fender repair they did there... I have some fenders that could use that exact repair.

NICE HEADERS! My buddy has an L78 Nova that he had restored there, it is impeccable! A really nice place from what he tells me! maxwellwedge, whats the story with you?
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own. I resign. -Number 6, The Prisoner

Sorry I chimed in.....I don't want to get all wound up.

I know what You mean about not wanting to get all wound up.
The shop that I had do My motor charged Me for parts that He never put on My Motor.
I never got a build sheet to know exactly what was inside and I spent $300.00 for a Dyno and never got a readout.
That's not even the half of it.

It might help to share Your story if it could save Someone else the misery.
I do have to say, The car in the pics is looking good.

I do - I went there interviewed Peter and took 35mm slide photos of the cars for a school project!!!  LOL
I remember there was a mint 71 hemicuda there for +/- $CDN 30,000... Fall 1994  70 428 SCJ Mach 1 for $15,000 68 Shelby GT500KR for $40,000 - We thought those $$$ were insane then LOL

I've actually heard the same from others.

As an interesting sidenote, back in the early '90's my uncle was trying to sell his perfectly restored Duster 340. He took it to Peter to see if he'd want to sell as part of consignment, and he says "it's only a Duster, Mopars are hard enough to sell let alone a Duster"
Funny thing, I saw one there a few years ago!! :slap:
My top choice would be Musclecar Restorations in WI. for extensive sheetmetal work, even though I could practically walk to legendary.

I just see the typical aggravating procedure with these buildups.

They "started with a solid foundation" and hacked up a whole decent car.  By the time they got done stripping & torching it down, it was no more than the rusting frame-less hulks littering the countryside for $500.

Maybe not everyone has the guilt about cutting up a decent car, but sometimes this kind of stuff looks like it's just bad math.  Doesn't it appeal to them to start with a rusty shell if it'll save them $15,000?

Don't you think it might be a good idea to share your story with others?

Can you imagine if all the folks that got burned by HLPAG never spoke up and shared their experiences.

How many others might get burned for not being informed?

Really, if you ask around you'll find negative press or attitudes towards any Restoration shop ,Lots of people get taken advantage of. When your Baby is in a million pieces and they start dinging you an extra 200 here and 300 here it can escalate in a big hurry, I'm sure it's the root of a lot of marital divorces.
These guys do appear to know what they are doing , The workmanship looks "top shelf."
It's got to be hard to justify spending a $100 /hour at premier Restoration shop or $70/hour at a Qualified Body Shop, Where a guy might spend 3 hours working on a on a custom patch  and the premier shop does it in 1 hour because they've got the equipment to do it efficiently. Like anything it pays to do your homework and get firm quotes.

This is what you get paying top rate at LMC.  I would expect this from a local bodyshop.
