woke up with pain in my back and belly. went for a swim and returned with much more pain and feeling sick. saw a doctor, he gave me a pain killer injection and told me to go to the hospital tonight if the pain comes back. so between now an the pain arrising, I'm reading the posts on the board, do some searches for misc. stuff and checking my mails.

Hopefully when I do need to go to the hospital I won't be out for too long.
See you guys later...

If you have a or a couple of stones, could take 1 to 8 weeks to pass. There are 3 different sizes. Even the small size feels like your trying to piss out a bowling ball.
Best of luck dude!!

My bro and uncle have both had kidney stones. :icon_smile_blackeye: :icon_smile_blackeye: :icon_smile_blackeye:
It runs in my family. :eek2:

When my bro had one a while back, the hospital put a stint in so it would pass easier.

My dad has been fighting kidney stones for the last 5 years or so. He has had a rough and unusual case so I won't get into it. For my sake I hope it skips a generation.  :P

Good luck and hope you pass them quickly.

Sorry to hear that. I past one once. It seems like it took about 24 hours once the pain started for it to pass.

Or...you can have what happened to me....
Had amazingly bad pains, which came on slow, then ramped up so fast I thought I was going to die.
My wife rushed me to Emergency.
I had to crawl out of the car.
After admitting, I was given morphene, with little effect.
Then came Torrodol....wow! That was a trip!
Pain went away after a day.
I never saw the stone pass....and it didn't. My kidney became infected (without my knowledge), then DIED!
So now I have one kidney, and I had no idea.

I'm sorry to say welcome to the club.  I've had nearly 15 of them myself.  They're never fun.  I have yet to determine what actually causes mine.  Mine don't appear to be related to stress or eating habits and they've lasted anywhere from 30 minutes to 15 hours. There's a study circulating on the internet about how OJ (not cranberry) can help reduce the risk of getting stones.   :shruggy:

Not what I meant, sorry...doctor told me to drink all I could to stop stones from forming...so I did

Sinister68

I wish cranberry would've worked for me; Didn't stop the last 2 which were only 4 days apart.  :rotz: Now I'm trying OJ/grapefruit juice to see if that will help.

well, I am back!  :nana:

I went to the ER Sunday evening and they kept me there.
They inmidiatelly started the intravenous therapy with Papaverine and I didn't feel a thing.
Monday they took a CT-scan and this morning they did a small surgery to remove two stones.
There is still 1 small stone present in my kidney that needs to be taken care of soon.

Thanks guys for all the kind words!  :2thumbs:

the tiny stone in the kidney wasn't a critical issue. in 6 weeks I need to go for a checkup and making appointment for removing that tiny stone.

@ Back N Black: they used a small surgery technique:

Glad that you are better now.

After having the soundwave treatment to break up a 3/4" stone and passing multiple small stones my dad had to have the rest of them removed through his back. Not fun!

I have had several bouts with kidney stones-very painful. The last time I had 3 that I couldnt pass.My wife ordered this stuff from the internet called www.Uriflow.com.Within 24 hours after taking it my stones wre dissolved and gone.It dissolves the mucin that holds the stones together so that you pass them normally without pain. This stuff really works.I have given some to several people and it worked for everyone. You can also take it regularly so that they dont form.Great stuff try it.It is about 80.00 for thirty pills.I only needed 2 to dissolve my 3 stones.Read about it and decide for yourself.

My dad used it also for about a year. It did help with the pain but his stones were either too large or hard to completely dissolve.
