Choice of aftermarket hood?

What choices of aftermarket fiberglass or carbon fiber hoods are available for 68-70 Chargers?  I don't really want anything that resembles a big doghouse style scoop or anything, but something with a good lower and wider scoop to help introduce cooler air to the inside of the engine bay.....Thanks in advance

A six pack hood scoop would be cool :2thumbs:

Cool.  What do you think about these hoods?  Just pulled this page up from a google search.  They seem to be priced decent.  Who else sells similar hoods?

problem with 2nd gen non stock hoods is that they keep leaving the two giant impressions molded into the hood.  Go and add another scoop, no matter what shape, and it looks way to busy for my taste.  showcars shows a grainy crappy photo of an Ebody type hood on a 2nd gen charger. looks great...but if you look up that company you hear very bad things.

1st pic is the showcars hood, 2nd pic a custom ebody shaker setup

shaker one looks odd too.  I bet some hood pins would spruce it up some

Friend of mine has one like the showcars e-body style on a 67 coronet RT. Not sure where he got it, but it looks awesome.

DKN1997, Thanks for the photos, especially of the Showcars hood.  MoparSons, Can you find out where you're friend got his hood?   I can already tell you that I like the Showcars hood!!!  Bad things about the company though, right?

dkn1997

quick search over at moparts turned up these gems about showcars:

Just stay away from "Showcars Bodyparts" unless you like to wait 1.5 years for a sub-standard, poor fitting hood.

DO NOT USE SHOCARS...............POS

Wanna see something real scarry. I cannot believe that any glass company would put a picture like this on thier website. http://www.showcars-bodyparts.com/cuda6inch-AARhood.JPG

Definitely stay away from Showcars Bodyparts!  :flame:
That pic is typical Showcars "quality": Pathetic!

That style is what I'm looking for.  Any other company make that hood besides Showcars?

I will make a mold out of my hood, and make a carbon fiber hood for my self. :D
Thinking a little bit about loosing the "fin" in the middle. Might try both  :shruggy:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

not really keen on hood scoops on a second generation , but like the six pack &  think a custom air grabber would look good  :yesnod:

I bought a AMD steel hood to put a T/A scoop on for fixing my hoodclearence while keeping the factory hood for rebuilding back to stock
look in the future. Fiberglass hoods kind of scared me, don't really know why. :scratchchin:

I got a bulge hood for my 73 from VFN fiberglass and am very pleased with it.  I'll put a picture up in a day or so.
