Is the float and sock the same for a 73 Dodge and a 65 Plymouth?

I'm trying to get this 65 Valiant running. The fuel tank had a small hole in it that's why it wouldn't start up and stay running. It's being cleaned and soldered at the radiator shop. I'm trying not to put any money into this one and save it to finish my Charger. So the original sending unit still worked. But I want to at least replace the sock and the float. I've got a new sending unit from my 73 Charger that I broke the terminal post off of. The sock on the 65 Plymouth is round and soft. It crumbled when I tried to take it off. The sock on this new 73 Charger sending unit is a different design but it fits the 65 Plymouth sending unit. It's soft and flexible instead of round. The brass float from the Charger sending unit looks indentical to the one off of the 65 Plymouth. Are they interchangeable?
