Had some time to upload a few pics of grill that I'm fixing for my Charger. These are work-in-progress pics so I'll update once in a while. Currently working on plastic. Fixed cracks by drilling out at the end of the crack and then beveling cracks so that I can glue them. Once glue dried I've applied polyester putty to smooth out/fill in any imperfections.
Metal frame was stripped, removed any rust on it, filled in any imperfections/holes by welding them, primered and painted correct semi-gloss. Once plastic portion of the grill is done it will be going together.

Nice work, grill restoration can be very time consuming.   :2thumbs:

Definitely looking good. This polyester putty that you're using, Will it allow for any flexing once it's dried? I know these grills don't need to flex much, but being plastic and I'd think they flex a little bit.

Yes this poly putty does flex very well. Afterall plastic body filler flexes well also, reason it's called plastic body filler. You can successfully apply poly putty over plastic bumper covers etc, it's how flexible it is. Of course I've reinforced spots that I've repaired with fiberglass from the back side.

Well I've got more work done on grill. It was pretty tedious to mask every single rib, especially headlight doors, where they curve. I'm just waiting for C-trim now and once it gets here, grill will be all put together.

Masking center section wasn't hard except where doors curve. I think I've masked it in about 2.5-3hrs total, auto body degree came in handy  ;D
