I hope I don't get my head bit off but I would like to know who on this board that has a Charger and the new 2009 Challenger. It would be cool to hear of the reactions of cruising them together.

I ordered my 2009 Challenger and it is in D status and is getting ready to be built. I got a TorRed RT (Same red as the 70 Charger and the color of my Red Daytona in this pic) and I can't wait to get it.

This will be my color and striping - I think this color will look good next to my Daytona at shows and criuse ins.

I'd have to agree on it looking good next to the Daytona at shows.

Are there any red ones out yet? All I ever see is orange, black and silver.

Yep :yesnod:  along with Stone White, Inferno Red and most of the standard color pallet.....B5 blue is due out in the spring.

My friend picked up a Stone White R/T with a 6-speed & he absolutely loves the car.
Did you get Auto or manual?

My '08 Hemi Orange Daytona 896/1650 & my '69...see the resemblance? :nana:

All I have to say is WOW, those are (both) gorgeous cars. I LOVE the new Challenger... If the General hadn't of turned into such a bottomless moneypit I'd be looking into one...

I saw a truck load of white ones going down the highway this AM.

Aaah Sinister68, Good to see you on this board. I mostly hang in the aero section so I do not stay up to date. I love your Challenger. I am getting the same stripe with HEMI in it. Test driving the Challenger was amassing. Did you build yours or get it off the lot? I am hoping I will get mine soon – I am holding my breath because of all the problems with the auto industry. If you built yours I would love to know the time process you went through.

Love your 68

I ended up buying these wheels - They are in the mail and on their way to me now.  I hope they work good for me.

They look great. I got the auto - many reasons - I have a 6 speed TA and I just get tired of shifting. Got the cell phone and on it a lot. The wife wants to use it too so the manual was out. I do not like that they do not give you posi in the auto. But I have seen that these open rears lay two stripes even swerving the car off the line. They are balanced well. As long as I don't have a One Tire Fire I am OK. RED - yes, I have checked on the production of the TorRed and there is not that many. I am surprised, most people in the past gravitate to red with a muscle car. HEMI Orange is the big volume color for these. I love the Orange - but I also love the RED. My dealer has a RED SRT 44,000.00. Don't see many SRT TorRed either.

I want to get the Charger for our family car, but the V6 does not get the gas mileage as our Camry.

If you only had the challenger................would you miss the 68 charger?

keepat

Ordered one 12/3/07 and it came in 7/8/08 and I love it! Still gets almost as many looks as my 68 Charger. A good friend just picked up a 09 srt8 stick Challenger and we have a grudge match set for spring. My 08 auto running his 09 manual should be a great race!

Yep.....plenty of 2 tire burnouts to go around :drive:

PS---the  chromed SRT wheels will look killer...you just need 20" tires now (unless you ordered yours with the 20" chrome clads)

Did not order the clads - could not bring myself to do that. I will be putting 275's on the back and 255's on the front. I will put the 18's on in the winter to keep the chrome from peeling on my SRT 20 (and they will) before it's time.

Very very nice. Are those 17's Mag 500's on your Charger? I love the Challenger. It is like buying an 70's Muscle Car with up to date teck and ride. I could'nt find a 70 Challenger for 28,000.00 in like new condition. I get the best of both worlds.

17" on the front & 18" on the back. There's no question Dodge did the best job in bringing back the styling of the sixty/seventy more so then GM & Ford.
Thanks!
Pat

So Pat, which one do you truly enjoy driving the most?  Be honest ;)

Under 60 miles and only 50mph the Charger (cruising) any longer and over 65mph the Challenger hands down!

Very nice! The new 5.7L is doing very well, it takes little to keep up w/the 6.1L.  :2thumbs:

This may be because of the SRT8 being launched in '08 w/orange, black, & silver as the only color options.

I ordered a 2009 R/T Challenger on Jan 26 of this year.  Not in C status yet.  Ordered a Hemi Orange 6-speed with 20 inch wheels.  My 69 charger 440 4speed RT clone restoration continues but it is a few years down the road from completion and I wanted something I could drive now.  I've got the R/T hood stripe specified right now but am having second thoughts about that.  May remove that option and buy an aftermarket stripe of my choice.  I have ordered several new cars over the years but I have to admit that I'm pretty excited about this order.  I just hope Chrysler survives long enough to get my car built and delivered.
