Ponch, your right but the focus is on the father (if he is the father) who is 13 but was just 12 when the baby was concieved. He's not the first then 12 year old dad in Britain. The mother is (if i remember right) 15 im guessing she could have been as young as 14 when the baby was concieved.

At the other end of the spectrum we have 55-60 year olds having kids with the help of IVF. Which is worse?

One side of the argument is that the thirteen year old is too immature to have a kid, while this is likely true, we cannot confirm it as fact so it is just speculation, for now.

At the other end of the spectrum, we have our 58 year old getting pregnant with IVF. The main argument against that, is that when the kid turns 21, the mother will be 79, if not dead. This is fact.

Now, which is more damaging, a kid growing up and well into their adult life, with their parents there and able to provide emotional and financial support, or to have a kid growing up with a gap of many generations between them and their parents, and then lose them in their early twenties.

My conclusion: The world is fucked. I think Im going to move to outback australia, buy an XB falcon and devote my life to the search for gasoline.
