Cruising in the Super Bee . . . .

I took the Super Bee out for a spin today, and was cruising along nice and easy when I noticed a late model car coming fast from behind.  As it pulled up along side of me I heard a couple voices say sir,   sir,  and when I looked over at the car it was a couple young guys (19 to 20 yrs old) and they said sir, thats a real nice car, man, that's nice! I nodded and said thank you. It was obvious that they enjoyed seeing the Super Bee.
Two main things made this experience especially pleasant for me. First: That these two young men were clean cut and polite (they didn't call me Dude). Second: Even though they were driving a late sport model fwd car, they seemed to have a great appreciation for a muscle Mopar.
I felt encouraged about our youth, and also that maybe our Mopars will be in good hands when we pass them down.   :2thumbs:

Nice story.  This isn't about kids , but..... I remember taking a nice slow cruise on the highway and a guy in a Porsche conv zipped by and the guy put his hand up with a  :2thumbs: and I felt the same way.  :coolgleamA: that it was cool that people with other car interest remember these old Mopars and enjoy seeing them on the road.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Funny you should say that Sublime. My wife and I hung out with FLG his girlfriend, and a couple of his buddies on Sat night. They were all wonderful respectful new generation kids,  that gave me hope for my kids and ones to follow. They didn't call me sir (thank god, I'm only 34) but it shows that common grounds can bridge any age gap. There is hope.
I'd rather die than go to heaven.

Around here most of the car guys wont give me the time of day... but the kids in the ricers love my 70.... That goes both ways! Sometimes its the old guys who are jerks! Us young guys would all love to have a muscle car but most are not as lucky as me to have the means to get one... or the luck!

Great story, thanks for sharing. Like you said, there are still alot of great kids out there. Last Summer my girls and I were out in my Daytona and some teenagers were walking down the sidewalk, as we went by they were bowing to the car. Another time I was out in it, and some teenagers pulled up along side of me and said "Cool Car", "what is it". Then the big question, "what is that wing for". Yes there is hope for the future of these great cars, as far as the new ones the Challenger and Mustang continue to educate them on the importance of Muscle Cars.

A couple of years ago a guy in a nice Viper followed me for several miles.  When he finally pulled up along side of me, we exchanged thumbs up and he said how good it was to see a great part of American muscle car history going down the road.  Up to that point, I had just assumed all Viper owners were just stuck up rich guys.   Bob
