To the right person, it's worth something, but the 4th generation Chargers are not worth the big bucks.... yet. (ya never know)

But if you like it and you can get it in good running condition and keep it nice while driving it, go for it!

Fourth gens are basically third gens with different sheetmetal. Most drivetrain parts interchange. I think fourth gens actually look pretty cool (nowhere near a second gen though), and for your first car, it sounds really good. I'm 14, and I want to own a Charger one day. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

360's can make good horsepower when built right. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

go for it! i think its awesome you are interested in older mopar.  cant wait to the see the pics.  welcome to the site.

I think they are one of the best looking car on its class of those years... I think preffer that one over a Tbird, or Monte Carlo, or Fairlane/Torino.

however those years Tbirds are really nice too, nice equipped and everything.

and egshell white is a nice color for those... what color is the interior ? Burgundy? Blue ? Black, White ?... Burgundy is one of the best to match with that exterior I think

Forget the value and restore it for the love of it.  They were great cars in their own right and deserve some respect for that.  I wouldn't lavish it with a 100,000 dollar resto unless you are Bill Gates but I certainly advocate giving it another lease on life. :2thumbs:

Back N Black

I like em. My friend had one back in the day (Daytona) it was dark grey with black billboards.Very nice car. I say restore it.

Nacho-RT74

about that body style, My votes are more for a Magnum with T top :D

I think this is a member's magnum, owner of a green survivor 73 SE

THIS CAR IS HOT!!!!

Dunno about the diffs between models ( XE, GT or whatever, but as far is T top, is HOT )

i couldnt tell you it has white seats up front the backs ripped out...headliner/door panels are gone too
so i assume the interior was white

the old lady (my aunt haha) who i got it from stuck these big cragars and duals on it too
my mechanical knowledge is limited but would it sound good with duals?
i havent heard it run yet (its in the shed not getting it until spring) but im curious
and should i bring it back to stock or hot rod it?
before this all ive owned is a '87 Daytona and a '96 Jetta (both field cars) so idk anything about classics (if you can call it that)

Parts to bring it back to original are rare and expensive. There would really be no monetary value to going stock, and the car wouldn't be as fun. :D
Almost all cars sound good with duals. :D
Also, welcome to the site. Hope you hang around so we can see your car. :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

when i get pictures you can see for yourself but i plan on taking it off
would it look black with a red interior you think?

Black with red looks good, but if the body and paint is good, why? :shruggy:
Interior parts for that car are probably going to be hard to find. eBay will be your friend. :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

just some surface rust
undercarriage is clean (as it can get for a 33 year old car)
no holes in the floor so thats an advantage!

So, what exactly do you plan to do with the car? :shruggy: Planning is the key. :yesnod: :yesnod:

Lizey

(if) it runs drive it as i fix it
if not i suppose id have to do some work
gas up here is cheap ($1.79) so it'll be a daily driver eather way
eventually i want to do a complete resto on it tho
it belonged to my late uncle (so some centimental value to it)

Sounds good. :2thumbs:

Lizey

thats the plan anyway
the way the economys going im looking at building up a small block for it
like a 318 or a 340
or would one of those even go in a tank like this?

The car could be purchased with a slant six, a small block or even a 400 so any of the Chrysler wedge V-8's will go in there with few issues.  If there is a 360 in it now, go with that.

Lizey

allright...
ive allready decided to slap a 4barrel on it but...
how hard would it be to put a 4speed in here?
thats what i learned on so its easier for me to drive one

It easier to drive a four speed than to put the selector in "D" and forget about it?  :smilielol:  Anyway, it wouldn't be impossible but you will have to fabricate everything and gather pieces from a variety of donor cars.  The 4th gens weren't offered with a four speed and even though I believe a manual three speed was available I have never seen or heard of one.
