Hi, the color is a toyota/lexus 1F2 it is a flake-like silver with no pearl.
If you use it you must use a fine silver as a ground coat.

I use all PPG and was going to use water base on the carb, but i was having trouble with the gross flake-like silver, so i ended up with using solvent base.
Now PPG has come with a new line of silver base line for the water system so i guess the have corrected the problem >:(
In Norway there will be no solven base after 01-01-07...

I am thinking about a bumble stripe, but i have to see.
Have a lot of plans, here are some.

Light tinting of the windows.
Maybe a blackout hood.
Bumble stripe in a light grey semi gloss met.
LED light for the rear and hood lights.
70 door panels in black and grey.
blackout rear panel.
Fiberglass bumpers painted with ALSA chrome paint.
Boyd rims JYD 18x10, 17x8 with Nitto tires

Right now i have to get me some weather stripping for the car and i was wondering if i should get soffseal or Metro???
I have seen some weather stripping of bad quality, but i dont know what brand they where.
Any of you have some experience?

It is a 440+060 over with Eddy heads, RPM intake, Comp Cam XE285HL, New forged crank w/4340 H-beams rods, KB hyper-pistons 10,2-1 comp.
All is machined and balanced.
Also 3,91. 8 3/4 rear with a gearvendor OD unit, TCI super streetfighter 727.
Nothing too fancy, but i think it will be ok :)

wouldnt you want to paint car with all the panes on it at the same time...since its got metallic flake in it and way it lays on panels would be different if you were to spray all the parts separate

I thought the same thing, but I think he knows what he is doing. ;D If I did it, there'd be 5 different hues of silver.

Johnny SixPack

Norway, did you go with the manual or power steering on the RMS K-member?

Just saw that power was an option now, and I'd love to hear which you went with.

Thanks.

You have absolute right :icon_smile_wink:
I would not recomend this metod with silver, or other colors that contains a lot of silver.
Things that would change the metallic color is:
1) Air pressure
2) Thinner ( Slow/Normal/long )
3) How much thinner
4) Distance from car-spraygun.
5) How heavy coats/ many coats.

And maybe other factors as well...

I got lucky with color match  , but if not i had to do the entire car..
