what Brake booster options we have to fit on a 69 Charger ? specially if some from 70s A bodies is posible ( they are "easier" to find down here ). A friend of mine with a 69 does have the bigger diameter booster, like the one on mine, and... dunno, simply looks something... wrong.

already was converted in to front disc brakes, but I don't think really matter to work between drums and disc

The only 2 boosters for a 69 would be either the Midland-Ross booster which is clamped together (drum brakes only)

or

the made of "unobtanium" Bendix booster that is crimped together  (disc brakes only)

Bendix first

Midland-Ross second...

And don't bother trying to order the Cardone Booster that is listed for a 69 Charger with disc brakes.  It doesn't say return and repair like it used to and the picture is right but when it get it you get a functional equivalent.  I just tried it.  Not to say that if you ordered it again you might not get the correct one.  I ran into this with brake boosters.  Same deal.  Functional equivalent.  OK for fixing a junk car but no good for a correct restoration.  Fortunately, now NAPA has the correct master repoped in China.  Too bad they have not had the Bendix power booster repoped since MBM in Asheville, NC can't seem to get their act together on that one.  It's listed on their website as PB8536 but you can't get it.  And you have not been able to get it for three years that I have been checking with them.  It's always:  it'll be next month or we got one in but it had some problems.  You would think with all the boosters that they have in their inventory they could get the Chinese to make that one.  I just e-mailed them asking about why they don't have this one but no reply.  So it's still unobtanium.

Ultra unobtanium........NOS!!!

You can send out your Bendix for a rebuild for around 90 bucks.

if you say to me, we can't, simply the right one is "unexistant"... it does have the big diameter one, like mine. We are searching for the correct year booster. The correct one according to VIN would it be teh midland ross drums booster, althought has been converted to disc... dunno if single or double piston.

Prior Brake did mine for $86 a couple of years ago.  It came out of a C-body and they installed the shortened push rod for a B-body at no extra charge.  They are, or were, the folks that NAPA uses.  Thats how I found out about them.  Real nice folks.  I talked to them on the phone and they went out of their way to be helpful.  Can't say the same for the IDIOTS at Cardone in Pennsylvania.

jaak

Prior Brake in Texas rebuilt mine also. Total for rebuild and return shipping was $101. It was a quick turn around too, got it back quickly.

Did you pick it up in a store or order it online?

I inquired about it in the local NAPA store and they said there were sevaral in other stores. This is what I was told they would say, just to find out later that they were'nt.But BEHOLD!!!!!When I went to pick it up,there it was.I figured it had to be the wrong one.But I take it that it is the right one?The total price was 153.00 tax and all.Did I do the impossible and find the right one? They said there were more,so if anyone wants the # to my local store, just let me know.

Too bad they weren't about a $100 I would buy a few.

I was fortunate enough to find a Bendix booster in a 1970 Imperial in a junkyard.  I sent it out to Booster Dewey and had them redo it.  I don't think I could have picked a worse unit to have rebuilt either.  EVERYTHING in the one I got from the junkyard was toast except the rear half of the case.  Good news is, there is one more Bendix unit in the junkyard in another C body.  I'd grab it, but I can't get the doors on the car open plus it looks like it's going to be a major PITA to get that particular one out of the car it's in.

They are pretty much the same as the B body unit except the rod that attaches to the pedal correct?
