Well, I finally got the 318 on the stand tore the valve covers off, not to bad of shape underneath. Took the intake off and oh my god, it was the biggest mouse nest I've ever seen!! I got it all cleaned out and turned the motor over and took the oil pan off. As far as I got everything turns freely so thats good!! Now the question is where have you found mice in your cars??????

Hemidog

no mice in my car, but plenty of nests inside the heater box and cowl!

speedfreak68

My charger had lots of walnuts and sticks in the vent box, exhaust pipes, and under the dash also under the dash there was a lot of half eaten wires   :o

terrible one

Still have mice nests in both of the fresh air vent thingies. When I took the headliner down TONS of bullshit including nuts and the chunks of foam missing from the rear seat fell down. Also, they chewed their way into the glove box via the liner and had a nest in there!

rusty lee

when I went to look at mine popped the hood and right next to the carb was a dead mouse.  :eek2:

Back N Black

Mice built a nest in my tail light (69 Charger). There was a bulb and socket missing and that's how they got in there. It was completely full, pretty much the same shape as the housing when i took it apart.

I bought a parts car once that was a mice haven. They had made little nests all over it, but the strangest thing was when I found stuffing from the seats inside the radiator. The upper hose was off & they filled the top tank with seat stuffing...and of course, lots of pee. :eek2:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

A dead mouse fell on my head when I took out the headliner.

Mainly in the vents. There was one inside my hood. It took me almost 2 hours to dig all that shit out with a clothes hanger :eek2:

I get so many I leave them snacks in all their little hideouts...Decon snacks :D... A five gallon pail in the trunk works to...Put some goodies in the bottom...they crawl in but can't jump out... :angelwing: bye bye mousy. Drier sheets also seem to keep the little buggers away. I put them on top of my tires, in the trunk, under the hood and inside.

my shelby charger sat for 5 years with a bad fuel pump & shifter linkage, got it running again last year and found dead mouse chopped up by the turbo charger .

How could mice have gotten in there? :scratchchin:

When I took out my back seat there was one in the top part, and when I opened it up a nest and a few of the little SOBs came out on the highway! :o

Magnumcharger

I had a mouse nest in my upper radiator hose on the 318 in my Deora.
Good thing I didn't try running the engine before I took it apart!!

Well, I finally got the 318 on the stand... and oh my god, it was the biggest mouse nest I've ever seen!!

When you removed the mice, didn't that kill all the 318's power?

Just wondering....

chargerkid01

that was so funny I forgot to laugh!!! Since my car is a numbersmatching 318 car that is what is going back in it!! Trust me if it wasn't I'd go with a big block. Oh yeah don't knock the 318 they are a damn good motor!!

WingCharger

How were their mice under the intake? :shruggy: Does it have a hi-rise intake or something?

1969chargerrtse

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

chargerkid01

No it had the stock intake on it when we took the ntake off sunday there was a mouse nest in the motor I have no clue how they got. I'm guessing through the exhaust. The motor and tranny has been sitting on a skid in the unfinished side of the garage since I pulled it in 2005!! They haven't done damage and who knows they might have been in there since I bought the car they had a good food supply in there. I know you warned us but I don't have the space to keep everything up and in check!! It don't matter how many traps you put living on a farm it is hard to get rid of mice.

I let one of the cats out in the garage over night every once in a while in the winter.  I use the moth balls, dryer sheets but always leave the sunvisors down just in case.

I've seen so many cars with holes in the headliner with a nest on top of the visor.

I've found mouse nests in the usual places, heater box's and headliners. I try to keep a box of Decon by the door of the shop at all times because they seem to like walking along the walls. Well between my door and Decon I have a parts washer, underneath it are a set of 906 heads. I picked up the heads awhile ago to do some cleaning and Decon poured out of one of them.

A friend of mine had his 70 runner in a barn for the last 15 years, when he got it out a few years back he found a nest in the glove box! They pissed in it and the glove box door came off when he opened it..... I dont think that stink will wash out! :eek2:

quapman

I've had TWO deck lids ruined by mouse piss in the back end. What other creature lives in their own waste? Yuck. Well, maybe in the trailer park down the road....LOL.

Took a huge nest out of the back seat of the Challenger after I bought it. It had sat for a few years in a barn with no cats.

How about a wren's nest on your intake? ...of a car you drive daily? How about between the grille and radiator? In the air intake duct? Inside the fender of your 71 Charger? These buggers are almost as bad as mice, but without the poo & pee.

In the '68 I found mouse nests and crap in the fresh air intake box, heater box, and under and behind the rear seat.  Also behind the rear seat was my build sheet and it got nibbled on and used as building materials and/or toilet paper!  Underneath the car there were mud wasp nests all over the place.  And there was one unconfirmed report of a snake in the area.

No kidding.
I had My motor installed and most of the interior, and was working on some wiring.
I went to start the car after completing the engine wiring and I see a furry thing come out from the top of the fender.
He was scared Sh$tless from the car starting.
He ran along side My drivers door and ( of course My window was down ) stopped and looked Me square in the eye.
He jumped off the door ledge, trying to jump past Me but He landed on My right leg.
Holy crap, I never moved so fast.
I left the car to Him with the motor still running.
Now I keep poison on the garage floor around the car.
No more problems and My heartbeat has returned to normal.
