has anybody tried a piston type mech. fuel pump from race pumps? they say they are good for up to 2500 hp. would love to get rid of my A 1000 fuel pump noise. also wonder how well it keeps prime. sometimes i dont drive my cars for a couple of months, but when i do i dont want to wear the starter out trying to get the gas up to the carb again.

Those do look interesting. I have no direct experience with that product but wondered about the pump rod issue with a roller cam.  :scratchchin:

i use a carter mech fuel pump on one of my milder 500" motors. it has a solid roller camshaft also. you have to use a bronze tip fuel pushrod.mancini and race pumps sells them.i bought mine from race pumps,it was about half the price of mancini, maybe $ 25.00. also when you use the piston pump, you still use your own push rod too.

Thanks for the info OS  :2thumbs: I'll be interested to hear your comments if you decide to do this. I need to figure out something myself for a 572 street/strip combo. If i go electric it will be the Mallory 250 gpm unit with by-pass.
