Hey guys,

Id figure i would take ALL the fun out of paint remover, sanding, and cleaning off the doors i have for the charger...YEA RIGHT!

So to make my life easier i want to just get the doors dipped. Any place in NY (near brooklyn) that does a good job at a good price?

What do i have to do after they dip it to ensure my doors wont get rusty?

Two options after chemical cleaning.  Option one is have them e-coated.  This is an electrical priming process called EDP.  The other way is to immediately get them back and thoroughly etch the metal clean then hit them with an etching primer followed by a good coat of epoxy primer/sealer.

I have done both and they both work good.

Its getting harder and harder to find someone who still dose this kind of stripping. Its very toxic. Here in Calif. it was done away with about 20 years ago. Have you tried to find a place that dose Plastic Media Blasting or Soda Blasting? Both are nonabrasive ways of striping away paint and undercoating. They dont harm the metal in anyway like some other forms of blasting. They dont get inside of doors very well or do much about rust. But they wont harm the metal at all (like worping). They also expose any rust out aeras.

I think its my only option. The doors are from AZ so rust is pretty much non existant, i just dont feel like making a mess with paint remover. Im sure someone knows somewhere in the area.
