Any body else in the military, how does it effect your wife and how everything goes with the restoring of your chargers?

Keep an eye out for Jody...

...your Charger projects will get done...just not as quickly as you may like...

Thanks for serving.

Will hit my 6 year anniversary tomorrow.

It has been both good and bad for my Charger resto. First off it has added a few years to it with a couple deployments but on the other hand it has increased the bank account a bit making it possible to finally get things rolling again.

It also has added a few years to getting my college degree but then again now the Army pays for it all.

Definitely more good then bad, I even met my fiance on my first tour. We will hit our five year anniversary in March and are getting hitched in Sept.

What MOS are you going into?? 21B here, Sappers lead the way, Hooah!!

Best of luck and thanks for serving.

I do hope you're prepared to be sent overseas though.  It seems pretty unavoidable with any branch of the US armed services at this point.

I did a stint in both the full time Army and Indiana Guard.  It does give you more money, but hurts with time.  Me personally it helped with mine, I was a 63B, light wheel vehicle mechanic.  It gave me the foundation to build my car.  I was able to transfer alot of problem solving from fixing HMMWVs, LMTVs, and FMTV's to fixing problems on my car.  I was also able to tap into the massive resource the motor pool had by way of the older more experienced mechanics.  We all had a love of cars of some sort.

I say good for you if you join, and you have the thanks of me and my family.

Oh wow what a crock, I get my school paid for and then some here in good old North Dakota, and you don't even have to be a combat vet (I don't think so anyways), although the GI Bill definitely increases with a couple of tours.

Thank you for serving our country. I love the Guard. It took a little getting used to being told every thing to do, but you get used to it. Take advantage of the free schooling, it is a great deal you can not pass up. As far as going overseas, it just depends on what you choose as your AIT. Also keep in mind depending on which AIT you choose depends on how long you will be gone training for. Whoo-ah.
