Is that the reality show about the logging crews? These reality shows are taking over all the channels. I was home sick on the couch a few weeks ago and was channel surfing. I came across a show called "The real housewives of Atlanta"(Bravo channel). My wife and I watched in horror for about 20 minutes. At that point I said no wonder the rest of the world hates us.

other than a few sitcoms and 2 other show i only watch the history ch and tru tv . but both of them really do suck i hate the UFO , MONSTER QUEST , and all that end of the world crap what ever nostrobumbass & CITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD shoots my blood pressure thru the friggn roof  :flame: its not a bad show but gadanm turn the friggn volume on the music down for gods sake  :flame: i cant stand trying to listen to the host and the Fn back ground music is at 11  :flame: :flame: :flame: ice road truckers SUCKS as does the lumber jack show

but they do have some really good programs on HC . MEGA DISASTERS , MODREN MARVELS , SHOOT OUT and a few others but mostly thier shows are a bunch of crap that has nothing at all to do with history

as for the DISCOVERY CH . they just went down hill in the last 5-6 years the only show i watch on there is MYTH BUSTERS

and TRU TV blow except for after 11pm then its FORENCIC FILES till the early morning .

A while ago on HC, IIRC, they had a Abe Lincoln special.  I figure, cool I'll watch.  US history around that time interests me.  Then they have Gore Vidal subjectively commenting on how Lincoln was a depressed mess, had no idea what he was doing and then somehow going off on a tangent talking about how the war on terror is the same as a war on dandruff?!?!  If that was able to get televised on that channel, I was done watching.  Sounds like I haven't missed much.

need to bring back, shootout, battle 360, dogfights, and mailcall. Oh forgot about tactical to practical, and man moment machine
life's a garden, dig it.

I like the History Channel. Watchinhg "The Universe" there now. I like those UFO, Monster Quest, type shows. I guess Im just weird that way. Granted they probably shouldnt be on the "History" channel, maybe the Discovery or Science channel.

Current MoPars:
1968 Charger. 318 Out of commission:(
1975 Dart Swinger. 225 Pops daily ride.
1990 Dodge Ram. 360FI My daily ride.
2007 Magnum R/T. 5.7 Family wagon.

ACUDANUT

Those shows should be on the Si Fi Channel.  Because to date, there is no official info any of this crap.

Personally, History channel to me is one of the best channels there is. I love it and watch it all the time. Ya, Monster Quest and UFO hunters is out there a little, but I like Axe Men, Ice Road Truckers (a lot), Modern Marvels and when they have the WWII stuff on. With the execption of a few misc shows, 90% of all the tv I watch is Discovery Channel, History Channel, Travel Channel, and National Geographic Channel, Speed Channel.

At least it is all much better the Americal Idol bull shit :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

You know, compared to most of the tripe that's on other channels, NGC and the History Channel are great, even if they do have a few sucky shows ("The Dog Whisperer?").

You know what channel has really gone to the shitter? TLC. Used to be the "The Learning Channel", but now they might as well call it the "The Freak Channel". Just about every show is about super fat people, parents that have litters of kids, people with some bizarre condition (the Tree Man :puke:), midgets, giants, trans gender characters, miscelaneous freaks (the pregnant man, the steroid dude whose arms "blew up"), those horrible mothers who put their infants in beauty pageants, and - depending on your perspective - you could argue that the tattoo shows are about freaks too.

Monster Quest is an awesome show.

Except, I think they lied about not finding any giant rats in New York.

Still sucks. Since when is a Pawn Shop worth getting into a History Channel.  I want more shoot outs.

I really like Pawn Stars a lot. I have learned more then I thought I would by watching it. The guys are funny as heck too.

Good show or not, it doesn't belong on a "history" channel.

because, for example, if someone brings in some obscure or random Civil War artifact, they will start talking about it and throw out some pretty cool facts about it ("these bullets were special because the casings were made out of melted blahs blahs..."). Or "bills of this year are easy to spot because of the paper..." That sort of thing. It gives the show a historical context.

I do get pissed off at some of dumbasses that bring stuff in. Like the guy last night who brought in the CSX Cobra body. The "expert" told him it was worth about $60,000, he took the $30,000 they offered him. I don't know the guy's circumstances and maybe he desperately needed the $, but I would have told the pawn guys to go f themselves and I'd have put it up on ebay or craigslists.

almost everyone does that. Like the guy that brought in that clock. He took $500 because as the pawn guy told him, it wasnt working and didn't know how much it'd take to fix it. The pawn guy paid some guy $50 to fix it and now the clock is worth $2k. Do these people (the sellers) think much at all? If the seller had bothered to have it looked at before he took it in, he might have made an extra grand. That's what kills me about that show.

The WW11 in colour was pretty good while it lasted. But I guess it was just a teaser. Now it looks like it's back to the same old junk.
I don't know how Dish Network is, but with Direct TV you have to "upgrade$" to get History International witch looks like that channel actually has things on it that have something to do with history.
