You never know who you're working with, a 68 Charger story with no real point.

So the woman who has worked beside me now for the past year was being laid off at the end of her shift today.  Just before the end of the day, she comes up to me with a small stack of photos in her hand and proceeds to tell me that they are the pics of the car her husband had all through their dating years and for a number of years after they were married.  The car in the pics turned out to be a 68 Charger RT four speed.  It was green with a black top and green interior.  They sold it in the early 80's and the guy who bought it tried to use it as a high speed tree harvester but apparently the trees won.  I asked her if she knew of any paperwork laying around the house that might still have a VIN on it in case anyone gets the 68 Registry pumping away again.  I asked her why she waited a year to tell me about the car and she said she didn't think I would care.  I wear a Charger or Mopar t-shirt most every day, my locker is covered in a collage of Charger pictures, I always have a Mopar magazine laying around the work area, there is a steady stream of people dropping by to talk about cars and I have a pic of my car up on the bench.  Somehow, she missed that bus.
Anywy, no real point to the story except that you never know what car tale the person beside you may have to share.  :icon_smile_big:

There was someone on a truck site I hang out on who told a story similar to that. He had tons of stuff relating to his truck around his work area, too. Someone he had worked with for quite a while came along the last day before he left for another job & said "hey, I own a truck just like that".
Odd. :shruggy:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

It is odd because I got along fine with her and we talked about any number of other subjects all day.  Maybe the Charger geek thing just doesn't totally register with the rest of the world?
