There is an old Winged Warriors newsletter (1976-77 era) with a guy who bought a new '69 Runner, and then the Superbird came out.   He couldn't trade up, but ordered all the Superbird parts except the rear window plug and converted the car.    So it's still a '69 from the doors back.   Has to be one of the earliest clones.

Sandra and I went out for a drive around the lake earlier this evening in the runner and when we got back, she asked if we could put the extra wing and wing braces on the 69. She's anxious to drive a car with a wing and she realizes that her bird clone is going to take a while.
If I can find a decent pic of a 69 similar to ours with a wing, it might help me decide to go ahead and do it for her.
We're only talking about drilling 8 holes in the quarter panel. I can weld those back up later when I decide to repaint.

No one will ever know.  :icon_smile_big:

Would like to see a pic of that car. I would never alter the front end of my car since I only want to do this on a temporary basis. I would definitely remove the wing later on when I decide to restore the car. It's the only car that I own that I don't mind driving to Wal-Mart. It's not as nice as the above pics portray it. It's just a nice driver and that's the way I like it...for now.
