This is pretty cool, I had never heard of it.  Does any one have other pics or info on this car by chance?

At one time I had a mag that had that in it, but it was lost long ago. I always thought it looked very cool.

Bummer, I much preferred the Challenger style front end with the Shaker!

Wonder if that was a completely :Twocents: oriented decision?  :shruggy:

The original car was black with a black convertible top, black interior and stripe delete.

It was delivered to the Hamtramck Exectutive Garage initially, the conversion took place shortly after.

Yeah there are pictures of the VIN, and I think they are posted elsewhere on the site. I think I posted a picture of its VIN from when it was at a show back in 1980, or 81. Back when it was still painted Orange.

I think its cool, and should be left.  Wouldnt it be worth more as-is?  I mean, I know a Hemicuda convert is still a lotta dough these days, but a Hemi Challenger vert isnt in the same class.

Heck ya -  leave it alone!

Funny, Hemi Chall verts were a one year only car with waaaaay less total production tha a Hemi 'Cuda vert but don't bring anywhere near the money as a 'Cuda.

for a historical point of view ..leave it as is , ... but my own persional view i think it looks ugly , but don,t flame me guys , its just i like stock looking mopars  :yesnod:
i was not thinking about value ..when i said  convert it back to a proper challenger ,  all said & done , i would still be proud to own that awesome mopar :coolgleamA: as is
