What materials and procedure for polishing the gauge lense?

I've seen several polishing kits out there, most of them for polishing headlight lenses, but I don't know if that's the right stuff for cleaning up a gauge cluster lense. What have you guys used?

Ghoste

I've used the Meguiars plastic cleaner and polish with good results.

Mother's polish, tooth paste, blue or purple rouge. How "bad" is your lense?

My original is pretty much a basket case but I got a nice used one off Ebay recently. It has a little overspray on it but that's about it. I just need to take the mask off it so it can be polished.

Well, now I need to know how to get the mask off the lense. Looks like you have to break some plastic tabs to do it.

Little help?

honestly I don't think a special plastic polisher is needed after see what a buddy of mine made on his 92 Camaro. He used sandpaper and the regular 3M polishing and wax system... DAMN THOSE LENSES CAME OUT LIKE FROM THE BOX!!!

Bull,
Sent you a PM but actually you work up to 6000  grit.
On you metal shrouds....Remove them the same way as the blue lenses.  Solder iron  melt the plastic tabs while slowly pulling the shroud up.  Then polish lens interior.
For the reinstall it will need to have some additional plastic welded in that area to retain it.  I also use high strength clear RTV when needed and a couple spring clamps to hold it tight while curing.

I like Novus plastic polish #2.

The OLD Blue Poly polishing compound in a can works great, too, but it's not made like it used to be and the new stuff might as well be a can of mayonaise.
