WOW!  Cool pictures. I bet that was a long cold day for those workers!

I was wondering how big a crane it would take to pull that thing out of the water.

Nice Job! Almost looks good enough to fly again......probably going to the crusher after the investigation is over.  :shruggy:

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

It's amazing that the plane remains so intact after being crashed, sunk, and then hauled back up.

Thanks for the cool pics, Mike. :2thumbs:

So where is the operator of this big azz crane sitting? I guess it must be top left (top right on the crane itself) where the staircase is. That's the only thing I see that looks like a cab anywhere. It can't be easy to work on his left with the boom in the way.

That plane will be bought cheap by some airline with a crappy safety record, the engines rinsed to get the feathers out, then repainted & be back in service for the next holiday rush.

Several years ago a jet ditched is SF Bay and was put back in service...  :shruggy: i doubt that'll be the case here..

HLPAG Air?

BTW - is there any video of the "landing" out there? I saw one of the people getting out of the plane, but not the actual crash. I'm sure there is video somewhere...since you'd think that New York City has surveillance cameras every where.

There was one on CNN a few days after the crash.  It wasn't great quality or the best angle but you could see it.  I am not sure if there is a link on their site, it has to be out there somewhere
