Problems reassembling 1bbl Holley 1920

I didn't realize to look at how the float spring and accelerator pushrod/check ball came out. I'm reassembling the 1bbl Holley off this 225 Slant Six. When I disassembled the inside I took off the accelerator pump and the rod and check ball. The new check ball with the kit doesn't fit in the hole on the top of the pushrod. Is it suppose to go in the ball hole or inside the pushrod? I didn't notice how the float spring came out. In the reassemble picture it shows the float spring in a vertical position. Does it seat anywhere in the float bowl? How does it go?
