If it's like other gauges it looks like a small piece of masonite. Is yours broke?

what is masonite ?

I'm fixing a Charger 70 on all its electrical stuff. Studs were internally loosen and one of the studs was READY FOR A SHORT allmost to make contact with housing. Overheating on stud because loosen stud  practically made "dissapear" the isolation piece because burnt what it looks like somekind of cardboard

I have fish paper here if you'd like a piece. I use it to insulate the windings when I rewind the fields in a motor. Send me your address and I'll send you a piece.

An envelope shouldn't be too bad. This stuff is just a few thousandths thick, and he'll only need a 3" square piece.

Is there an electric shop, or a motor rebuilding shop in your town? Check and see what they have.

yeah will do! thanks for the suggestion and the offer!!!

I was thinking on a piece of hard cardboard BUT if some heat there could get some flames easier than this original piece.

There is an auto electric shop close to me. Never though on that! but is because is hard to find ANYTHING down here
