I understand that this is a forum for Dodge Chargers, but what is the problem with talking about whatever we want to.  It's not hurting anybody to talk about politics, religion, your mother's bad knees,  ect.   When someone tells you that you can't talk about these things, it kinda sounds a little Nazi-ish. Don't you think?
DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!

Because it always seems to end up in flame war trainwreck and the mods end up having to clean up the mess.  It may sound Nazi-ish to say it's forbidden but it's easier than locking threads and banning users or begging other users to come back.  The really personal attacks almost always spill over into other threads as well.

We've been there, done that & some members have bailed because of it. The powers that be have decided that there will be no more of it...so be it. :spank:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Good answer. It came about due to the previous election (2004). People would have bitter battles about politics and it would affect other areas of the site. Since this site is for cars it seemed rather silly to have members (effectively) running off others due to their political views. We also don't allow religious discussions or nudity (and try to cut down on the profanity) and the site seems better for it. As usual, if people could have calm, rational, constructive discussions it wouldn't be an issue - but that doesn't ever seem to happen. There are tons of other web sites where these topics can be discussed freely but let's try to stay focused here (even in the Off Topic section).

:smilielol:  This isnt 1962 anymore. As time marches on our society continues to normalize behaviors which were once verboten. Take a look at the change in attitudes toward Harley riders, and tattoos as examples. Porn becomes more normalized every day.

I blame all of this on the liberal Obama presidency.

Consider this...

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost a son while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both were shot behind the head.

Here is an interesting one...
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners.

Both successors were named Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are made of fifteen letters.

Mr. Booth shot Lincoln in a Theatre called "Ford".
Lee Harvey Oswald, shot Kennedy in a car called "Ford" Lincoln.

Booth ran from a theater and was caught in a warehouse.
Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And last but not least,
A month before Lincoln was shot he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A month before Kennedy was shot he was with Marilyn Monroe.
