Pre-Production '69 R/T stripe

All this talk of stripes in this thread and no one mentions that the car has a 68 gas cap on it.


The font in the stripe looks off to me, from others that I've seen. And now you have me wanting to dig up some old pictures of Charger R/T's.

Huh?  Look at the 8th post.... Resq302 (Brian) mentioned it
It also has other '68 styling cues as well (dash pad etc but thats for another thread)

Here's another original 69 Charger R/T sitting in a yard/marsh.  Now gone.  My 69 R/T was stripe delete, so I can't help ya there.

How the HELL did cars like these ever end up in fields & marshes??

think the story was on here !! or on the old site   ..might of even been moparts
the car had been stolen , & left for dead or something  back in the 70s , thought it was a SE also ..... don't quote me on this info , just trying to remember what i read  ..

Don't know where you got that from.  The engine was blown up, and taken to the junkyard.  It had been there for decades.  I took a few pictures before they crushed the yard.  Still had the original engine and tranny, but was completely rusted.  I pulled a few parts off of it.

oh right  ..thanks Ryan  .. for putting my story straight  , ..hmmm  wonder what i'm getting mixed up with then .. or it could be just my brain is going
