Started at 6pm central time. Who else plans on watching the 39 hours of coverage this year?

B-J changed their website this year, and I can't post a direct link to the cars. So, I'll post the lot number for each car, and you guys will have to look for it if you want. I can't even right click to save pictures  ::) I WILL UPDATE THIS FIRST POST WITH ALL THE PRICES so it will be easy for everyone to look up. I'll just post all the Mopar's because of the B-J website change.

I will be home for all of it this year. I will update this post asap. Friday night for 3 hours I'm going to tape it while I watch WWE & Battlestar.

Thought I heard them say it was a 69 GTO,cloned to a judge.

TruckDriver

It was a real Judge.

Summary Optioned with a Turbo 400 3-speed automatic, center console with shifter, power disc front brakes, AM radio, 3.55 rear, power steering, Rallye II wheels and handling package. Powered by a vintage-correct 400cid motor. PHS and GM of Canada documented.

Details All rise for the Judge. This is 1969 Pontiac GTO "The Judge." This car is double documented by both PHS Automotive Services and GM of Canada. Originally this Judge was finished in the desirable Matador Red and was re-painted the desirable color of Carousel Red when it was restored. The interior seems mostly original and is still in good shape. The factory options on this car are as follows: Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission, center console with shifter, power disc front brakes, AM radio, 3.55 rear axle ratio, power steering, Rallye II wheels, handling package and of course "The Judge" package which came standard with the 366hp Ram Air III motor. The original numbers matching motor is long gone, but it does have a vintage-correct 400cid motor that is a strong runner and is equal to or greater than the factory rated horsepower.

They got a lot of nice cars this year. I saw a lot of GTOs and they got 5 real Yenko cars too. I counted a few Charger's again this year too. All were '66 to 70's though. :drool5:

Hi Guys - I live in Phoenix and I'm actually heading out to the auction tonight after work.  Fantastic event in the past - great beer, great vendors, great cars, great food, and of course great beer.  Let me know if there's anything particular I can snap some pictures of and I'll try to post up afterwards.

I watched it a little before going to bed.  Is it just me or did the blue 1918 Cadillac go a bit too cheap ($32,000), being that it was from the GM Heritage collection.  It looked like it only needed a good engine bay detailing from what I saw.  That just struck me as odd as it being a luxuary car from an early era going for so low $, almost for what common Model Ts bring.  Someone got a bargin.  :Twocents:...

What we never find out is how many of the cars (which are gavelled at bargain prices) were actually purchased back by the seller.   :scratchchin:

There are definitely some lower prices this year, but it's still early in the week.

Last year down here for about $13k you could get one heck of a car, so my time frame for my car was if I didn't get one before the Barrett Jackson then I'd be going there and buying one. :shruggy:
Also, I'd rather have a project then a finished car..... If I make it, I can fix it on the road if need be and (like someone had said) you have more respect for something you spent countless $$$, time, sweat, pain, and joy on (like kids from what I hear) then if you just pay $$$$ for it, and I need something to do.

Luckily I bookmarked the '04 site and the direct linking still works as shown up top.

Partly because of the market being so soft, partly because it was a very late addition to the sale but mostly because it was the wrong venue IMO.  I'm biased but GM would have done better running it through the RM auction across town this weekend where the clientele will be primarily looking for that kind of vehicle.  But my opinion aside, you're right, someone got a bargain.

Dodge Don

This is what kills me about Mr. "Guru" Galen Govier....the sales info on that 70 R/T SE says (according to the Chrysler Registry (Galen's)) "It is also #2 of 3 RT/SE's "Y07" Code.

That sounds super rare doesn't it? Well the 70 Charger Registry already has 9 Y07 R/T SE cars registered.

I will bet that the agreement GM had to make with Barrett was that they got exclusive rights to handle EVERY item GM sold.    RM sure would be a better bet for the older cars.

472 R/T SE

How many A32 cars with cruise control are there DD.  That has to be it's rarest attribute.

I could never get the guy to send me a copy of the broadcast sheet or tag and the pix I took of blue and this car many years ago are on a floppy disc.  Maybe he didn't want his GG credentials debunked by having it our Registry.  :shruggy:

I have some 'net buddies down there who will be taking pix.  :icon_smile_wink:

Hi all - went to the B-J auction last night - I have pics to upload but haven't been through all of them.  I can certainly confirm that people are getting a HECK of a bargain at the auction this year.  No joke, even the beer was cheaper.  If you'd been sitting on some money holding out for a really nice car - this is the year to buy at the auction (if you discount the ri-flippin-diculous fees that the auctioneers charge of course).  There was a slew of really nice frame off restoration cars that were going for under 30k.  I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the 67 vette convertible I saw go for 53k would have gone for near twice that when I visited the auction last year.  Guess its just a sign of the times, collectible cars take it in the nose like any investment when times get tough.  Only a few chargers last night, 1 68 and two 70's that I saw.  Pics to come.

sure are a lot of cudas to come across. anyone else think buyers overpaid last 2-3 years and now they want to unload before the bottom falls out completely of 6 figure six pack cars, etc?

That '68 XP that went for $45,100 (but I guess it didn't make the reserve price?)...anything special about it??? I know it had a 440 and upgraded electronics, but really... :scratchchin: Look forward to the photos and your up close impressions!

Jerry sold #743 for $35k to this dealer and it just gaveled out at $58k.  It cut out on line while the car was being sold but the announcer was pimpin' it out as 1 of 1 this-n-that.

I think I threw up a little in my mouth. :eek2:

I thought it looked a little rough under the hood for $58k :scratchchin:

It looks to me like prices are all over the place. I've seen some cars that seem like a bargain and others that remind me of the over pricing of 2 years ago. Of coarse I'm watching it on TV, everything looks good from my seat. I really have no confidence in the condition descriptions from the announcers. Steve Magnante is the only guy who has any true knowlege of cars from the muscle car era, but if you notice he's very careful about what he says (they all are). You know the old saying "if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all".
