Cutaway early style Hemi?

Many of us have seen those 426 Hemi cutaways that Dodge displayed in the late 60's but my question is about the early style Firepower Hemi.  Did they make a cutaway version?  I ask because I saw one at Columbus 2 or 3 years ago but I never did find out if was homemade or Moparmade.  Anyone know?

Yes they did, there was one on Ebay a month or so ago.

I have seen a /6 version as well.

A slant six one too huh?  Any idea how much that one on e bay went for?

My high school auto shop had an old Hemi cutaway. No one knew where it came from and it had been there for a long time. I graduated in 1996 and it was still there.

Here's a pic of an early cutaway Hemi, too small to get much detail.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

with those flat top pistons in those early Hemis it's a wonder they even made any power at all.

several years ago i got into a huge nasty debate with a 426 Hemi builder at a large Mopar meet about the factory early Hemi piston design. when i left he still had it in his mind the factory early Hemi pistons had a dome on them like the 426. :eyes:

i guess he never rebuilt or had the heads off of an earlier Hemi.

Could he have been just thinking about replacement pistons?  Those certainly came in a domed configuration.

it's really hard to tell if that was what he was thinking or not. :shruggy: i made a point to say factory stock pistons a few times during the conversation and it started getting ugly. i keept my composer and just walked away.
