This is a start of my official resto-thread  

I will be adding progress pictures shortly when i get them off of the camera.

But for starters, this was the before (approx. 13 years ago when i was driving it to school):

This is the car that I had gathered the parts to build. Sold the car to a friend and and all of the R/T components to a guy in Texas.
I was planning to graft the 71 R/T door skins onto the 74 doors. Had it all mocked up. Decided to build my other 71 Cuda instead.

Stuart, I sold the 74 Charger to Howie. It was a rock solid california car with no rust and only a couple of dents. I think he plans to get it back on the road pretty soon. Won't take much to get it going. I would like to have built it but I have way too many nicer projects.

That looks cool and different. I think the only thing I would change to make it look sleeker would be to axe the nerf bumpers.

In fact, that's the first thing that would have to go. Then the front and rear bumper fillers. Gotta tuck those bumpers in tight.

i'm still up in the air about the nerf bumpers....it seems everyone removes them....as for the fillers, if i can make it look right then they're gone.....

Tucking the front bumpers in should be pretty easy. I think you can just slot the bumper mounting holes and slide the bumper in. That's the way that we do the e-bodies. That's the way that I had planned to do it on my 74 Charger.
The easiset way to tuck in the rear bumper is to use the 71-72 style bumper brackets, but you can cut and alter the 73-74 brackets.

Cant oval the fronts and move it in. The Y of the inner side hits the frame before the bumper is in far enough. I'm into this now  72 Rear brackets will work but you will have to drill a hole for one of the light sockets as it hits before it fits all the way in,, just a tad.

ebay mopar authentic restoration makes them for $170 thats where i got mine not bad looking!!

been out at the shop and working quite a bit, and realized i haven't posted any pictures......

I've taken a lot of pictures and i'm going to be putting them on my company website and I was wondering if I should link the site here, or actually post the pictures for some of ya'll that might like to see the progress going on with the car......

I really like how you put the pro-comp gauges in the original rallye cluster. I have been thinking about doing the same thing on my '73, and its cool to see how it would look. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, in order to do that I removed the factory gauges and carefully removed the clear plastic faces and used them as templates to make aluminum reproductions that I riveted to the factory locations, then I cut out the back of the cluster to get clearance for the gauges to stick through and installed everything.  If you look closely you can see that I drilled out the factory high beam indicator and installed an autometer mini shift light in it's place.
