Do you think this is legit?  15K seems a little low for a complete, fresh original 426.

:scratchchin:  does seem a little cheap for a  unstamped  Hemi  :scratchchin:  wonder actually  how bad the car is .... as to a guy not in the body work game ,& just listening to the insurance engineer, saying its totalled ...could mean ...labour rate is to high to fix , wonder if he would sell the car complete :scratchchin:

I don't know how bad it is. I'd hate to see him part it, but if he is leave him alone so I can get parts please!!! :icon_smile_big:

Engine date code is 3-22-69, i dont think any C500 were made then.  They were on to making Daytona's by then so this cant be a C500 engine.  I'll request Danny's confirmation on this one though.   :popcrn:

I just wrote him a question asking what is going to happen to the Charger 500.

Too late for an orig C500 engine but like others stated its an unstamped block (warranty)

I saw that one yesterday, and there are different ways to look at his description.  You could infer that he's trying to claim the engine was original to the C500.  However, I tend to interpret it just as an explanation that he had been running the warranty (or "service replacement" if you prefer) Hemi engine/block in his Hemi500.

PT's correct - all of the C500s were made by the end of December '68, so this block could not have come from a C500.  Considering the seller clearly stated that the VIN pad is unstamped and has "WT" on the ID pad, I don't see how he's blatantly being misleading.

That being said, I'm sure that we'd all like to know what's up with the C500 chassis that was involved with the accident.  Anybody want to bug the seller for some details?   :scratchchin:

I'm betting an insurance company owns it now !  Hopefully it will show up at an auction someplace..

but then again why would he have the motor if that happened..

Maybe the car has been sold already and no one is talking if you get my drift :icon_smile_wink:

I asked about the car last night and I just got this "Sorry, car is not sale"....looks like Paul got the same answer. I replied...we'll see.

Hi,

wasn't there a C500 Hemi lately which was restored in Florida and on its way to the new owner?
The car was shown at the Florida Mopar Nats. There shouldn't be too many B5 blue C500 Hemis

It stands for "water test" and lots of Hemis had it--we went around on this with 70SBird's fake #'s matching engine offer

I have seen the WT reversed (TW) a few times on real, original factory stamped Hemi motors....But I do agree it is Water Test. Also seen it a lot on warranty 440 motors. I guess they wanted to be sure there were to be no more warranty issues.

See Im offline for about 4 days and I miss all the good stuff.

I never heard anything about a B5 HEMI 500 that was supposed to be sold at BJ in that last 5-6 years anyways. Was it longer ago than that?

The little blond haired one walking behind the little brunette girl just in front of the 500. Those pictures are approx. 1 1/2 hours before I had a bit of an accident with a storm drain lid, and my left arm. Which wound up entailing 125 stitches, and 10 years of no movement in 3 of the fingers on my left hand. But man let me tell you this, that HEMI 500 really could fly as was evident by making it to the hospital in under 10 minutes and it was a 15 mile drive.
