Interior Progress on Project '69 - Seats Back from the Upholstery Shop

Seems like forever since I posted on my '69 progress.
Well, just got the seats back from the upholstery shop. They did a great job, it was reasonably priced, so I'm happy. 

Seat covers and new foam came from Legendary. I stripped and repainted the seat frames. The front frames are more visible than the rears, so I did them with DuPont ChromaOne. The rear frames don't get seen as much, so to save a few bucks I painted them with gloss black Rustoleum out of a spray gun. Gotta admit, the rustoleum actually looks good!

I started putting them together, but it got a little late & I had to stop. I'll post more when they are finished. I started putting the seat belt clips in, the knobs, chrome buttons, etc. I got one seat together and started cutting the holes for the headrest. That's when I had to stop.
All in all I'm very happy with them. Any wrinkles are from being in the box (it's cold here), so a day or two in the sun should straighten them right out.

Just got around to finishing these up. I started from scratch on the next seat, so I thought I'd post more detailed photos.
After locating a cutting a hole where the two parts go together, I began by assembling the seat back to the seat base. Attached is a pic of the hardware. There is a shouldered bolt with a large rubber coated washer that goes thru the seat pivot arm, with a fiberboard-type black washer in between. For some reason, I only had one rubber coated washer. So, I borrowed something similar from the hardware bin. It gets covered by the plastic hinge covers, so it didn't really concern me.

Next, the two plastic hinge covers go on. The original screws were pan head, chrome plated and threaded. I replaced them with polished stainless ones.

Then, I located the holes for the headrest bezels. I picked up a set of repros from Mitchell's for $50 bucks, much cheaper than having my originals rechromed. They're installed with long, pan head chrome sheetmetal screws.

The headrests were installed. I also restored them, there is another thread that details the headrest restoration. New chrome bands and lower vinyl strips from Krusin' Moons were applied.

The lower seat belt clips were also installed with polished stainless pan head screws that replaced the rusted originals.

Bill, those look really familiar.......hmmm..... do I need to go out and check my garage and uncover my charger?     Seriously, they look great.  That car is going to look killer when it is done with the color combo you picked out.

Good for you!  I'm glad you didn't follow the BE/A mentality of color matching a strip of vinyl for the gasket

From what I've read, they were black no matter what color interior you had.
Chris, you have documentation confirming this?

No documentation other than word of mouth from others with original headrests in other colors than black...
