I was bored at home and came across this VHS tape I made back in 93 and 94 about all the toys I once owned.  Bikes, quads, bla bla.  Along comes my first Muscle car since being a Mr Mom.  I got it from a body shop friend that has a garage full of Muscle cars. I paid 10,000.00 for it at the time.  I ended up selling it because it vibrated like crazy.  After having the 440 Charger engine balanced, I'm positive what was going on in that Dart was it was rebuilt but no one balanced the engine after replacing the pistons.  The picture is off my t.v.  Love those 340 Darts.  That one was a 4spd to boot.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

It has a 71 grille. You can tell because of the black. A 70 is all silver and the 71 has the black fins. It does have a 70 rear bumper. 70's had the single tail light and 71s had duel tail lights. If it was a real 340 car, it has to be a 70. There were a FEW 71 340 dart swingers built for Canada. I hear like 50 or so. I can't tell if it has the emblems on the 1/4 or on the fender. If they are on the 1/4 panel behind the door up on the body line, it is a 70. If they are on the front fender, 71.

Nice car. I would love one like that.

I thought it was only 2 for a dealer out in Western Canada? :shruggy:

Not sure.  But here is what wakapidia says,

"The Swinger 340, Dart's performance model, was replaced by the Demon 340. Chrysler Canada, though, did build a small number of 1971 Swinger 340 hardtops based on the Swinger Special for two dealers in Western Canada. In 1971, Chrysler abandoned their longstanding corporate practice of installing left-hand threaded wheel studs on the left side of the vehicle; all wheel studs on the Dart thenceforth used conventional right-hand threads."

So it looks like they made them for two dealers.  So I would guess that the 50 mark might be high, unless those two dealers sold allot of them, I would guess more like 10-20.

It's a 70.  First of all I remember owning a 70.  I dug through tons of pictures and found these 2.  Silver grille, even though it did look black before and the Swinger name behind the front door ( in another pic not posted ).
