i know alot of you guys will probably say its dumb but im thinking about painting my car dark silver or a glossy gray with black racing stripes down the center, just on the hood and rear not on the roof. i did the design on a charger in a video game and it looks cool. plus its diffent
so with that in mind anybody got any pics of real chargers with racing stripes?

Are you saying dual chevy stripes or the single stripe you'd see on pontiacs etc.

Not what you were asking for but I couldn't resist.

1968_Charger

well i was talking about dual stripes down the middle, i like that blue charger with the white stripe though, it looks kind of neat. that other chargers stripe looks kind of like the petrol charger that was made.

Ghoste

Or the Petrol Charger kind of looks like it, it's the wind tunnel model that Dodge used back in the late 60's.

I never understood the black verticle tiger stripes on that '68 above. The white stripes look ok IMO but I don't really get what's going on with the black ones.

I agree.

1968_Charger

yea that blue one looks good, any other pictures of it? im also not to fond of the stripes on the side but the white stripes look good.  also what is your opinion on stripes across the roof, or just hood and trunk?
i like the hood and trunk look better, on the roof is a little too much.  :Twocents:

and bring on some more pictures, i know you guys got more than one.   :2thumbs:

It's a 1968 Viper!!

Looks good though - minus the black stipes.

Dual stripes.

This is the only other dual stripe pic I've got. The dual stripe thing just doesn't work well on 2nd Gen Chargers, IMO.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Gotta say, maybe i just havent seen it done "right" yet but it seems chargers werent meant for stripes  :shruggy:

1968_Charger

i think the only way stripes look good is to get the right width stripes, and gap in between them right width also.
that orange one isnt too bad but i think they are a little far apart. if they were closer together it would look right.

this is the one i mentioned the my last post , was in the spice girls video

Any more pictures of that red daytona with white stripes?

1968_Charger

im not a fan of the stripes down the side. but if done right i think stripes will look cool and definately be different judging by how few pics there are. i might lay out some stripes while the car is still in primer and see what it looks like.  :2thumbs:

There are several pictures (and unfortunately, several dead photo links) scattered about in the Aero forum.  Try doing a search for "Clayton" just in the Aero section - my friend Clayton K. is the one who found the car sitting on a carport in south St. Louis City, and sold it about a year later.

There's also a thread with a few pictures on the '70 Charger Registry forum here:

Jut found this on the net, under google images.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.
