Nice.  We could meet up in Montana and cruise to NYC going threw detroit, depending on how crazy that place is.

I propose on this day 1/9/09 that on the 50th Anniversary of the Dodge Charger [2016] (which is also my 50th birth year) we show the automotive world our passion for our cars by running coast to coast in our Chargers.

Man you are old dude!

By then I will have one.  I would be in for the WHOLE stretch.  Wing,  you can ride with me.  I want a 68 or 70. Depending on what charger I get. It would be a R/T clone and would be built to my liking.

Later,  Jeremy
How would that work?  :-\
Thanks!

C_stripes

What do you mean how will it work?   You will sit in the passanger side and program the gps.   :slap:   lol

I was just offering that if you don't have a charger and want to go, you could catch a ride or flight to where ever I was and hop in with me and ride out the trip.

I was wondering, how the heck would I ride with you when I am in Ohio, and you are in Utah? :scratchchin:

From the 1st Gen site:

There was talk recently on the Yahoo group concerning the 45th anniversary and where it will be held.

I volunteered to serve as the organizer and host for the 45th in the St. Louis, MO area.

I have a site selected that is 5 minutes from downtown St. Louis in Granite City, IL. It is a former Army base that has been turned into a Business/Industrial Park. It has plenty of grassy areas, an on-site restaurant, golf course and YMCA. The one thing it lacks is shade. For some reason, Army bases hate trees as any Army vet can tell you.

The St. Louis area has many tourist attractions:  you can see the Gateway Arch from the grounds, the Budweiser brewery is 20 minutes away and has daily tours, there is a transportation museum with a running Chrylser turbine car that they take out to shows occasionally,6 gambling casinos, a world known zoo and park where the World's Fair was held in 1904 I believe.

The site is served by 2 major Interstate highways, 70 and 270, has 6 chain motels. A Denny's restaurant is located right in the center of 5 of the hotels. The hotels are10 minutes from the site with easy access from 270. To figure your distance and travel time use this address: 5 Cambridge Court  Granite City, Il 62040 (That is my home address, 5 minutes from the site)

I had posted a message on the Yahoo site offering to host the event and was reminded that not everyone belongs to both sites. I apologize for my forgetfullness. For convenience, I would ask those who don't belong to the Yahoo site to join.

Posting any information relative to the event will be easier to forward and it will ensure that everyone gets it in their mailbox by posting it on the Yahoo site.

I will be setting up a Poll to determine the dates. For those of you who are not familiar with the St. Louis area our weather is either hot, hotter or hotter - humid, more humid or unbearable humid. We have heat index's in the triple digits, so I am leaning toward either May or September. Poll will determine the dates.

I have been working on the plans for this since I left the 40th. I can make it a 3, 4 or 5 day event - another poll.

I will also be putting together some ideas with Ron Delvaux for a logo for the event for some shirts and hats like I did for the 40th.

I have a get together planned and a cruise along the river, some contacts for goody bags and plan to award 5 trophies.

I'll also be putting up some ideas for comments and will welcome any and all suggestions, comments or other ideas. The 40th was a great time, I hope to make this even better.

I would love to drive across the country.  I was contemplating doing it at some point in my life.  THe biggest problem for me would be having that many consectutive days off from work....we're talking like a minimum of 2 weeks.  If I was absolutley sure the car would make it, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

So will there be a cruise to another state(s) or just a meet over 3~5 days like the Aero Car club does?  I like this idea and will plan on it.  As long as there is shopping for my significant other, it should be a go.  Plus its closer to mopar Stu and thats where i want to be.   :icon_smile_big:

Sounds good to me. Either I'll ship my car out to NY for the country-wide cruise or drive down to San Diego to welcome you home.  :2thumbs:

It's a more or less stationary meet.  The fastback crew get together every five years like this.
