Speaking of the Supercharger, wasn't the work that was done to the car done by Totally Auto? And wasn't it on display there at Carlisle some time back?

nascarxx29

When Raffi M.Who found the car in a estate auction out west. Owned the car and worked in PA. It was it Daves shop in PA for evaulation and seen some local exposure .Dave suggested leaving the aged paint as it was .It later was Steves and he had it on display at various shows .I went to NY to see it and the rest of the cars in the collection.Seen the memorabilia and 426 cut away engines .As seen on www.stevenjuliano .com .Which reminds 69 500 I have a printed out thread on a old post where you mentioned having or had a 426 Hemi cutaway engine.

Key word there was "had". Got rid of it to years ago, well not that many years ago but it was before I picked up the 500. It didn't work, or at least I couldn't get it to work, not sure if its back to working condition now or not.

Finally found my photo album!!!

This picture is when our wing club was invited to race at Riverside International Raceway one year.  I explained in an earlier post the rules.

I am leading Lou Whitfield down the back straight at least for awhile.  This was about half way down the straight and Lou's bird was just getting wound up.  Needless to say he flew past me right after the pic was taken.  The TA was great around the corners but Lou's bird would fly down the straights.

Man, this is one of the coolest threads I've read through here in quite a while. HCtub, thanks for joining the site, sharing all the cool stories & especially for including these neat pics!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I don't know if there is a post on here of the worst damaged nose to be brought back to life or not so here goes.

I bought a Superbird from a guy in Las Vegas that had been in an accident.  I think he said he had it parked at a casino and when he came out he found it like this.  Lou Whitfield took me over to Vegas in his Bird.  On the way back a guy in a Camaro decided to pick on the damaged bird and wanted to race.  Even with the nose looking like this I had no problem getting him on top end.

I parked the Bird in my driveway where you could see it from the living room.  Lou and Colin Young were there visiting and Colin kept looking at the bird with the damage.  After awhile Colin went into one of his trances and started mumbling "metal has memory, metal has memory".  A short time later we had the nose off the car and Colin went to work on it.

We ended up saving everything except the fiberglass headlight door.  Luckily someone was reproducing them at the time.  We even saved the parking light frames.  It did have some bondo in it but not as much as you might think.

Here are some of the final pics.  The car was from New Jersey and the rest of it had more bondo than the nose.  This was about 1979 and the trunk was already rusted all the way out and had a thick metal cover on the bottom.

Slots are the only "classic" wheel I like. Never been a fan of Cragars or Keystones.
New Slots are too "thick" I guess is the way to put it. I like the deep dish look. :2thumbs:

I'm really not sure where those wheels came from actually. They were on the car when I bought it back in say 1980 or so.  I was never all that fond of them. Ran them on the car for a while then pulled them off and put a set of aluminum slots on the car. I think I have at least 2 of those wheels still sitting around somewhere. Car is original dog dish hubcap car which were long gone by the time I got it. And yes they are a steel wheel.
