I'll start.

I have a '73 Duster. 318 auto. Originally Y6 Gold with white interior and a black vinyl top. Now dark blue with white interior. Strange thing is my vin number and fender tag has C (Slant 6) in it but my fender tag has the code E44 which means 318-2BBL. The first few things I'm gonna do to it is new carpet, new headliner, put Rallye wheels on it and clean up the engine.

When it's done...it'll be maroon red, white 340 stripes, hood pins, factory hood scoop etc. TUFCAT will post a picture of his '73...mine will look exactly like his. :2thumbs:

I think that's a great car for a daily for you Cody, what's this moron color of which you speak?.. Is the dark blue repaint that tired?..
I take it it's a bench seat three on the tree, I never read the details on it...

Here's a duster twister that we did up for our mom last Christmas.

Duster Twister...

Hey Bronze, so your saying the fender tag has 2 engine codes? You say it has slant six and 318 on the fender.

TUFCAT

SUPER NICE!!!  I love Sassy Grass Green!

When I was a kid about 4 or 5, I couldn't read very well (that's another story) well anyway, I always pronounced the "Twister" as "Thruster".

So from 1971-1972  I saw a lot of those (growing up in Motown), and they were Duster Thrusters!  :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

My Dad should have corrected me.  :brickwall:

That's funny, and thanks for the compliments. One of these days I'm going to find me a real 71 duster wedge car with the blacked out hood and 340 decal on the hood. Any one know of one?? :drool5:

The maroon that is on TUFCAT's car (he posted pics in this thread). The paint is flaking off in some sections and has primer spots on the left front fender. Some of the side molding is missing so it looks like it has half gold stripes. And yep, bench seat, three on the tree.

Could just be your basic misprint. Check over on Hamtrack-Historical to see if any option codes are close. :2thumbs:

I don't think so. It has a 318 that looks like it's been there since new.

I love sassy Grass green. Very nice. I would love to see more pics.  As a matter of fact, yes I do.  Factory A4 with the black out 340 4spd project in Idaho. I will try to get more pics this spring. Right now all I have is this one.

If I remember correctly, it was even a console shift 4speed. The engine and trans was there but no rear.

There is a c body on the compound but it is not mine, just storing it in the yard for a buddy or should I say chevy convert.  He went from no Mopars ever to having 2 in 3 days. :2thumbs:

I have always liked Dusters and Darts. I have had my fair share and had a couple 340 Dusters and a 340 GTS Dart. I also had Dart Sport Which had the Duster body. They were just daily drivers back then and never kept any  :'( last year I could have gotten a good deal on a 4 speed 318 Duster but I need to get the Charger done before buying more projects  :P

I love the Dusters and Demon/Dart Sports. Mom had a '73 or '74 Duster she purchased new. She traded in her '71 Satellite in on it. She said from what she could remember it was Petty Blue with a white interior, A/C and a white side stripe. I wish I could find a pic of it somewhere. :yesnod:
I had a '73 Gold Duster a few years back. It was a /6 auto with factory A/C. It had a sun roof, but the gear was stripped in it. You could roll it open , but it would not close. It also had fender turn signals and standard wheel covers, which I replaced with a set from a '58-'59 Belvedere. I sold it to some kid up in N.Y. I wouldn't mind having it back again.

Current MoPars:

1975 Dart Swinger. 225 Pops daily ride.
1990 Dodge Ram. 360FI My daily ride.

Just picked up another one today, 1970 360 auto on the floor. He wanted $2500 for it yesterday when I called and I said that was too much, called me back today and said he would take $1500.00 so I bought it.

my brother found it doing an realistate appraisal the other day. I had to do some digging to find out who owned it. I know where there's a 72 duster orig 340 4 speed car that now has an auto in it for around $4500 right next door to this one.
