What tire size should I go with?

I am getting ready to purchase my redline radial tires for my Daytona clone. I will be going with the 15x7 steel rims with dog dish caps. The Daytona will also have power steering. Any suggestions on a size that will really give it that muscle car look without being too big for the 15x7 rims? I have been buying my redline radials from Diamond Back. Any other dealers that have quality redline radials other than Db and Coker?

Thanks

my car has 275/60 on it and the fronts rub nearing lock.

We ran through tire sizes in this forum a while back, and I advocated for a single tire size at all four corners so that you would have a matching spare.  others liked the fat rear tire look with smaller fronts.

225/70 up front with 275/60 out back are almost the same height.  if you wanted more rake, upwards of a 295/60 fit out back.  I'm planning on new tires in the spring and I'm going to run 255/60's all around on 15x8 circle track wheels.

Diamondback shaves regular tires down (there are others who do the same) while Coker and Kelsey make new ones, but only in 70 and 75 series.  why no one will pop out a 60 series redline is beyond me.

Thank you for your response. I think I will go with your suggestion and run 255/60's all around on the 15x7" rims. Diamondback has the red line radials in this size for $198 each.

Thanks again,
Al

you might be able to request certain tires if you're inclined--I've seen cars with Firestones from them, but they may offer a selection.

those tires are aggravating to me--I have to write the cars' descriptions at work, which means I have to crawl underneath to get the stupid tire sizes

i believe NOT Just 6T9 CHGR has 60 redlines on his car . so i think somebody makes 60 series . hey Al share a couple of pics with us . Rene

As you can see here, Diamond Back makes the 60 series redline radials:

What cars came with 8" rims so i can keep an eye out for a set?

Here are a few photos of the car the day after Christmas as well as earlier with the wing on it. Check out the license plate. Don't forget, my facility makes all of the plates for the state of Maine.

I want to run 275/60/15's on 8 inch wheels all the way around on my Daytona clone, too. But not if they rub-anywhere! I think it can be done with a custom offset wheel, but to be sure I just ordered one of these:

http://www.percyshp.com/wheelrite.html

The guy had one on e-bay for a buy it now of $79.

Jeg's and Summit sell them, too - for $89 I think  :scratchchin:

It should take all of the guess work out of my wheel/tire choice :scratchchin:

I'll let you'all know how it works out  :2thumbs:

I've also heard that on a Daytona there could be a problem with rubbing on the belly pan of the nose, especially when turning. I had thought about P255x60x15's all the way around and even tried a tire on both sides. It was close but I think that it may have been okay. I ended up not doing anything so I am not sure but your probably on the right track using that tol just to be sure. Good luck.
