I'm confused again  :eek2:

So with the valley pan on my intake looks like this:

With the gaskets it looks like this:

Im still waiting for the jerk,, ah er I mean nice guy on ebay to ship my torquer I bought on the 23 of Dec  :icon_smile_angry:

Anyway,, What covers that hole in the center top area? There is no gasket for it and I can only assume the intake will but what does it need to seal??

The intake will cover the lower center hole. The higher hole is just a place that lost clips etc. fall into and no need to worry about it.
Do you have the front and rear rail straps (3 holes per)?

Moparbob

Hi,

Yes I have the front and rear pieces that bolt on top of the valley pan. What are those other holes? Never seen anything like that before.

The lower center holes are for the heat crossover - You may or may not wish to block those off on your intake. If you are not 100% racing leave them as is. The upper holes are just the way the casting is and nothing to even think about again....Unless you drop stuff in them by accident

Any special reason why you are using the additional gaskets?

I was told that with the aluminum intake its best to use the felt gaskets on top and the bottom of the pan. no?

I don't use the paper gaskets....just the tin valley plate. Use Ultra Copper RTV on both sides of the tin around the ports and along the end rails. Felpro makes a block off gasket to plug off the heat crossover which i allways use (PN #1215)....keeps the intake manifold cooler and prevents vapor lock in the warm weather. You can just stuff tinfoil in there to achieve the same result. I also use a thick carb base insulating gasket or spacer to keep conductive heat at bay. The cooler you keep the carb the better it will run.

I've always done the exact same as Ron with my aluminum intakes and no issues with sealing or driving.

The other plus to blocking the heat crossover is that if you decide to be sneaky and paint that intake, it won't burn off so readily at those spots.
