Alright . . .

I have a mild 383, making about 9:1 compression, stock heads with stainless valves, this cam (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=LUN-60302&autoview=sku) an Edelbrock Performer RPM, and a Holley 750 VS. The rear is a 3.55 gear, the transmission is a 727.

I have no clue when it comes to stall speeds and torque converters, so could someone recommend one for me? At first I was told to use a PTC 11" with 2600-2800 stall speed but I am finding so many different ones, etc. that it's kind of overwhelming.

I want the car to be a street machine, as that's where it will be driven. Naturally I am more geared toward off the line, tire burning takeoffs and other than that just street driving.

Suggestions?

I will have a 2500 in mine, I've learned here that the camshaft and gears decide your stallspeed.

Pick the brand you like, call them and tell them what you want from the converter. Choosing a converter by advertised stall speed is pure folly.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Jackson, look for an 11in street converter which will stall in the 2300-2600 range with your engine combination. PTC or Turbo Action make descent units.
