What single Charger part do you have the most of?

Just curious what other people here collect when it comes to Charger parts. I, for some reason, have collected several black 13-inch arm rests. Though I don't have a ton of them I do have at least enough good ones for four Chargers (and no I don't want to sell any). I think I have so many because I've seen some of the aftermarket ones :P and I'm paranoid I won't have some good ones when the time comes so every once in a while I'll buy another used pair off Ebay just in case.

This is about parts, not cars, so Travis's Charger collection doesn't count. :nono: :icon_smile_big:

Anyway, whatcha got?

Ghoste

I never set out to collect them but I seem to have a good stash of 66-67 grilles and associated hardware.

472 R/T SE

For whatever reason I started collecting instrument clusters when I was still working.  I honestly don't know how many I have, maybe 20.  I think you knew that already Curtis.

Also a few kick panels & a pillar pieces.  I hear ya' on the arm rest pieces.  The only thing similar on the repros is the shape.  ;)

I was buying stuff off ebay every pay check when I still worked, needed it or not.  What I really miss is going out to the Boring U Pull It buying more junk I may never use.

tan top you raise an interesting point.  My buddy and I rent a shop and a storage bay on the same property but the owner wants the storage bay back for his own use so we've been "evicted" from it.  We were standing around last night trying to figure out how to maximize space in the shop and started talking about all the "junk" we could throw out.  As we talked, we began to realize that it wasn't that easy.  We don't have a U-Pull around here anymore so things that should have been thrown out a long time ago are now viable spares even if it's just as temporary or emergency use

tan top

yep Ghoste  :yesnod: ....... not a good idea to throw anything now .... &  from what i have seen on here & on mopars  more & more junk yards are clearing out ..at least the older cars .... ..won't get any better now with this latest cash for cluncker crap  that i have been reading about on   various sites :RantExplode:

Dome lights. I needed two but I bet I bought at least one at very show I went to for about three years. Of course, I forgot what else was on my list every time but I knew I needed a dome light...

I knew you had a few clusters, I didn't know you had 20. That's a pretty good collection.

Funny you mention the Boring U-Pull-it because I know I've gotten at least 8 or so front and rear arm rests there. A few of them I already sold but I know I have at least two rear arm rests still from that place.

Same exact story except I did get the grill out of a 68 Charger about 20 years ago for $75.  Thing was cherry.  Even came with about a foot of each fender still attached.  The yard owner torched the grill out and crushed the rest.

I have two of all most any thing you could take off of a 1969 newport drop top.As for my 73 charger 2 sets of doors, grills, taillights, and nos marker and turn signal lights.along with some other parts that are stashed in box's that I should go and start writing down so I stop buying the same stuff. :scratchchin:But if it has to be one part I have the most of, it would be the magnum 500 style wheels in 14" all redone 6 pair.

Mopar440+6

Probably '68 taillights and I haven't actually bought any. Between buying the three Chargers and horsetrading parts somehow I've ended up with about 8 or 10 pairs. Oh well, I'll take the best pair for my car, keep an extra pair in storage and sell the rest...

Not sure any more on what I have the most of. I used to have way way way too many 69 Grille's laying around in the attic. Took care of that problem last year. I'd probably say 14" and 15" assorted rims. There is probably 45 of them in the attic and the majority of them still have old polyglass tires mounted on them. Every time I went somewhere to pull parts if the car still had the spare on the rim in the trunk i'd pull it out and buy it. Other than that, not a whole lot of anything. I have 3 sets of sun visors for a 69 Charger all in white.

I have tons of armrests and headlights and rings.

Good question to pose.  Not counting my keeper parts for specific projects that I have, I would say either second gen. doors (five pairs) or trunk lids (seven).  I am really bad about keeping extra spares just incase I may need them for a new project.....

If they are in good condition hang on to at least 3 complete sets of them.  Getting hard to find in really good shape.  Check out the price for repop ones. :o

When I first got my Charger, the guy who sold it to us threw in a couple extra sets of 3rd gen grilles, en extra pair of doors and various odds and ends. I sold what was in decent shape and tossed the rest. About the only spare parts I have now is an extra set of door glass I picked up for free about 10 years ago. After having my driver broken into and stereo and about 100 CDs stolen I've learned the value of keeping extra door glass around.

bill440rt

I'm about in the same boat as Back N Black.

I'm knee deep in this Charger I nicknamed "Project '69". I had a nice sized stash o' parts, still got some good stuff, but needed to sell stuff to keep the project going. Right now, the engine is at the machinist and I've started budgeting for the trans. It never ends!

Currently I have some nice side glass, a couple sets of kick panels, vent windows, glove box doors, tail lights, etc.
And, oh yeah, grille stuff!! Most grille stuff I'm keeping, but there's other grille stuff I'm still looking to get rid of.
