Suregrip thrust buttons

I know where get them but since I'll have to get some stuff from Summit, Does somebody knows if Summit carries those ? I have been searching on its website without success

I don't think they do, you might have to try a place like Randy's Ring and Pinion to get a part like that.

Unless something has changed, those thrust buttons are still available from the dealer too.

Never even thought of that Nacho.  If you have a dealer who will try and work with you, the part number USED to be 2467 268.  I'm sure it's been superceded many times since then if it's still available.

Haha yeah man, it did. Hopefully that's the last time I'll have to mess with that area for a bit. Uninstalling and reinstalling that chunk got really old really fast! Looks like you had the honor of drilling the solution through my head! Hehe no wonder you remember. Thanks again!

Cass (doctordiff ) carries them so not a problem to get them really. In fact I got from him last time, was more worried on save shipping. Trying to fix the "turbine" noise on my differential, when dissasembled noticed trust buttons were loose, center pin broke and in fact one of them look some miled. Probably EXCESIVE preload on axles made that. They are still reusable, but looking forward on replace them, because I have to remove everything AGAIN... didn't get success on the differential noise... got better but still with the noise.

One question... They have LOT side play. Are they in that way ? Damn I thought they should fit a little bit more tight inside the assembly... never asked that before but I do now.

An no, sorry, No local delaers with those as far I know ( I can be wrong though ). In fact ppl doesn't know what is a Posi/Suregrip/limited slip, unless in "race" world. Same problem about additive.

Mancini doens't have Shock absorvers to my application ( and Summit have them cheaper )

The thrust buttons NEED to have side play, They effectively make the 2 axles into one and indepedent from the center section.

yeah but I mean not the play between axles, I know does work the same than the block spacer on open carriers, I mean INSIDE the cross... diametrically ( sp ? ) diameter of buttons is noticeable smaller than the hole inside the spider gears cross

Ah Ha gotcha ! Thats odd they are usually machined pretty close to the size of the hole.
