I love '70 Super Bees'.  Years ago when I was searching for a fc7 Charger I called a dude with a business called Southern Moparts I think, (Lawrence Dubose sp?).  A HLPAG student if I say so myself.

I purchased a fc7 V code Bee from him, built on the last day of St. Louis production.  Galen said it was the last V code and second to last Bee overall.  Anyhoots I was so distraught and burnt out over the purchase that the car sat in my garage unrestored for 10 years with me doing nothing.  When I purchased my blue Charger I sold it shortly afterward.  It went to the Kansas City area.

A34 Super Track Pack car, bench seat, fender tag, broadcast & engine matching, original go-wing car.
The dude I sold it to did a half arse resto on it.  This Speedway outfit was asking $85k for it.  :o

I bought this one right after I got hurt from the original owner's brother.  He had just done a nut & bolt on it.  All #'s matching with the selt belt upgrade & N96.  Really regret selling this one.  It's in Australia.

Yep, see above.  Don't know where it ended up.  When I sold it a guy from I think Shawnee Mission bought it.  The Speedway joint didn't advertise it for long.  Before them I seen it on ebag.

Was it a 383 4 speed? White interior?   A old guy I work with bought one new from the dealer in Mac and always wondered what happened to it. He traded it in in the 70's. Been kicking himself since.

You jerking my chain?  :scratchchin:

Or is my first post tmi and you got bored & blew right past it?  ;)

oldcarnut

Here's my 69 Bee and RT together.  I sold the Bee to a guy near Atlanta after I fixed up the RT.  I liked the original Q5 color.  It was a 1 owner when I bought it and had been repainted to a gold color. 383 bench column shift.   Had it for about 10 years.  The guy that bought it stole my personalized tag  KILRBEE    He was supposed to send it back to me after his drive back but kept it.  I reported it to the SC DMV here.  If  I'm ever up that way and see it in a show I'm gonna repossess it on the spot if it's still on the car :2guns:

C_stripes

Oldcarnut. Do you have any better pics of the Q5 car? My friend has a numbers matching Q5 383 4spd car and he wants to change the color. I tell him no.  Heres a pic of it.
I'm smarter than I act, But I don't act smarter than I am.

oldcarnut

I have some but I'll have to find them and scan them in the morning.  It's 1 am and I've spent most of the day trying to complete the wife's 68 Firebird so I can start my bird clone next.  I wouldn't change the color either.  It looks good and goes with black stripes and interior nicely.  From what I remember the color was not in the high production numbers.

Let's see, I talk about a fc7 car and post a picture of it which sparks your interest.  Does your friend own just some '70 Bee that I miraculously may have owned or was it a purple 4 gear car similar to mine and that's why you asked about it and not the burnt orange one?

I'm not a code guru either, but in my mind I figured if I didn't mention them (codes) someone would question it.  And just the opposite happened.

So, it's a 6 pack, 4 gear, Dana 60 (4:10), black bench seat, go-wing, post car...that's purple
I highly doubt it's your friend's car.  It's too much car for anyone from Kansas.  :icon_smile_wink:

It's all good, you've succeeded.  Happy New Year.  ;)

I apologize for the 'jack.

His was a 70 4 speed with white interior. Bought it new from the Mac dealer. He traded it and never saw it again. One thing I have learned over the years and especially so on the internet is its a small world. Was just wondering if maybe it could have been his old car. There certainly couldnt have been many like that around these parts.

fc7_plumcrazy

Hi Todd,

the car of your buddy is a different one.
The posted plumcrazy Bee had the rare J81 rear spoiler installed (and on the fender tag). Was for sale in summer 2007 in Hemmings for 50k. Owner was from Missouri. I contacted him. A few months later it showed up on ebay. Was a black interieur car with black bumble Bee stripe.
