1973 or 1974 Plymouth Satellite or Roadrunner in Redding, CA 6/12/17. This was outside of my office window. Heard it start up and was able to get a photo.

saw this 57 on Jacksboro Rd near downtown Ft. Worth Tx. No place to stop and take a closer look or better picture. Was driving by about 40 mph and turning to the left around a sharp turn.

1970 Challenger sitting by a house that is for sale. Looks like it's been sitting in the same spot for a few weeks.

Pulling in for gas with the charger and found this at the station. Was a 383, now a 440 manual steering and brakes. Brakes were updated to disc.

1968 Coronet in Windsor, CA (my Mom took the photo). Apparently the owner lost his house due to the wildfires in the region, and saved the Coronet.

Nice car......but what are the instrument on the outside (on or just rear of the hood) all about? Not a great look in my eyes. Never seen that in the UK.

cowl or hood mounted gauges , was popular here in the 60 and 70's   tachometer  , temp and  oil pressure im sure

Very popular back then.  Pontiac even had it as an add-option from the factory.  Mercury and AMC did too, I seem to remember.

chrysler had a hood tach  as a dealer or parts dept add on as i remember

I'll say it's a '51.  The gas filler tube has been moved off the drivers side.  The single rear window is unusual, they almost always had three windows.

If they moved the gas filler off driver side it does not seem to be anyplace on passenger side either
Wonder if it is even sitting on the original frame any more ??

That's a good possibility about the frame.  Side note - the tube is likely on the passenger side, below the door handle level, and the picture as shown just did not capture the lower body well enough.

I looked closely and detect a coil spring around the front shock.  I'm sure those trucks had front leaf springs, not coils.  And they were solid single axles, so not sure how a coil spring could be added to a solid axle.  Either a whole new suspension has been "franken-dodged" into the frame, or it's a different frame.  Just my guesses.

Super cool truck as is.  66 years old, a wild Mopar, and still truckin'
