Can anyone please point in the direction where I may find the Emergency Brake Equalizer Levers/bars for a 69' Charger by chance? I've tried Advance and NAPA w/ no luck so far. Below is what they look very similar to:

"Thank you" for any replies,
Aaron

terrible one

Damn! I figured this would be an easy item to replace. One side of my car had it with the rest of the drum hardware, the other side had nothing. I need one too!

Captain D

Mine was exactly the same way. One side had one, the other side did not. I'm not sure if this is accurate or not, but I found something that seems similar on Year One:

https://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?hid=118AC5089&Style=3

The # IN41M sounds like it may be it, but of course, my luck, no picture. Then, #FD93LH on the same page looks similar, but the one we're looking for doesn't have that big L-Shaped bend in it.

I'll call tomorrow to see if that # IN41M is the one we're looking for or not. I "hope" that we can locate new repro levers for these years!

Dumb Question - But, if they don't make repops of these, and they're impossible to locate, then are there universals out there that work just as well for restorers to use when they're unable to find originals? If so, any information on this route by chance? At this point, I don't care if they're authentic or not, as long as it works, I'm happy! Especially since you'll never see the dang things anyway, lol.

Hmm yeah I see what you're saying and saw FD93LH on the page which says for the LH side of the car . . . I'm trying to remember which side of the car had it on mine (the one without the bend in it). Surely they aren't different from side to side?  IN41M does sound right, but I almost hope it isn't at $20 for a flat piece of steel. I hate it when there aren't picture on the website, especially for small parts like these. Let us know what you find!

Captain D

I tried calling Year One about the part, and the gentleman simply read the description on the online catalog. He wasn't exactly 100% sure that was the part we were looking for, but he said that we can return it for a full refund if it's not what we need. So...maybe after the holidays I will try to order it to see what happens if I'm unable to find it elsewhere. If anyone has any further info on this part, please let me know otherwise I'll keep ya updated on what I find out from Year One.  ;)

Kindest Regards,
Aaron

Keep in mind that 10" and 11" brakes take a different part and 11" are different left/right.

Factory P/N for the 10" is 2409823, for the 11" it's 2533892 (right) and 2533893 (left).
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Captain D

That's interesting to learn. I have 11'' rear brake drums. I didn't know that the 11'' are different lengths on either side. I'll definitely keep that in mind...Thank you for the heads up!  :2thumbs:
