Anyone know the current status on YO dash harnesses?

I remember a bit going around about Year One being on huge backorder with their dash harnesses, and was wondering if that is still the case? I broke down and bought one for myself on Christmas because of the 20% off deal but am wondering realistically how long it will take for it to get here? The website said 1-4 weeks but I'm skeptical.

I bought mine at The Paddock, one of the few items I bought there that wasn't on backorder. :icon_smile_big:

I just ordered another using the Christmas code and it's back ordered. Same with the taillight harness. I haven't heard much recently about the length of time though. Those harnesses are made by M&H and I have no idea what their backlog looks like. The first one I ordered was in stock and came with everything else so they aren't a drop shipped item. Luckily, I don't need this second one for a while.

You bought a "reproduction" dash harness for a 68-70 Charger from the Paddock? I am only aware of one manufacturer and they have an exclusive deal with Year One (or I wouldn't have ordered it there). I can't find anything like that on the Paddock site either.

EDIT - well dang, they do list one! It's $150 more than Year One though. It also says they are special ordered and are pre-pay only.

I got mine working OK but it is a very good investment!

Ouch. I guess there is still hope though. I wouldn't so much mind waiting a couple weeks or a month, I just wanted to make sure that there weren't any horror stories of people waiting for 3 months with no word, etc. I wasn't aware that the Paddock had them too, but at $650 . . . damn! Haha

I had to wait around three months for my harnesses from Year One.  The whole thing was a pain in the ass, further delaying progress.  They were a very nice piece though.  Just my  :Twocents:

I did not get a dash harness.  I was speaking in general of the M&H harnesses through Year One.  This was for an engine and forward light harnesses for my '73.

I wonder how truthful they would be about the time if I called and asked? Maybe that's what I'll do tomorrow.

The M&H dash harness is very nice and super simple to install (exactly like factory). It isn't cheap at $499 but the time it saves from having to hack together an original or splicing in a Painless Wiring or similar kit makes it worth it (to me). I'd like to know about the lead time on the back orders for sure but I don't technically need this latest one until next summer. I figured if I waited until I did need it that A) it wouldn't be in stock and B) there wouldn't be a discount code in sight. It's almost worth buying two at a time since it puts the order right at $1000 and qualifies for the additional 10% off. Use a 15% code and the total order drops to $750 - $375 each which is tolerable for such a vital piece of the car.

I'm of the same opinion as you Troy. I thought about "fixing" mine or even trying to replace all the wires, but that would still leave the corroded (And in my case, in some places, melted) connectors, etc. so I went ahead and decided to fork over the cash. My original harness had been so hacked up already anyways: different ignition switch spliced in, all kinds of radio stuff over the years, and the melted spot at the firewall bulkhead made the purchase quite justifiable. I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it when I did now; hopefully I've given myself enough lead time.  :scratchchin:

Looks like I'm screwed then because I need a com[lete wiring harness from front to back and everything in between!! :brickwall:

Actually, vacuum headlight kits (from the switch to the pots) are being reproduced and are readily available. :2thumbs:

Oh you guys should have ordered back around the end of October when i ordered mine.  I ordered wiring harnesses from taillights to headlights on the 30th of Oct. and recieved them all on the 6th of Nov.

I even saved a total of 25% with a 15% off code and the 10% bulk order discount  :2thumbs:

However I am still waiting on my quarter window roller kit, but I did just get a little postcard thing saying they (year one) have not forgotten about my order but its still backordered and they have no idea when it will be in, luckily I dont really need it till march or so.  ::)

I don't think they'll let me add anything to it now - most of it shipped on the 26th. I can ask.

I did not know that. I guess that works as long as you jack up the price by $150.

What kind of issues?  My 67 one was terrific.
Mine was like 5 years old , but all the plugs and wires where color coded wrong and had 40 extra plugs we did not need . M & H worked with us but it took like 6 months to get most of it done with 30 minute back breaking under dash phone calls. Just to get 2-3 thing done right . Then call again when they could free up some more time .  I still have heater controll / blower issues and am afraid to put my A/C ducts back in again .
