    as far as i know this is the original to my  charger  .. SPD november the 22  ..1968 .. deep cover ... car  is a two owner . previously unrestored  63k .. ....   has long style shield things above the tail lamp bulb scockets also ..........

Hmmmmm....I spy the (what I thought to be) 70 style 2 screws above the latch 

Also looks to be about as deep as mine that I pictured on page one....

Chris, just by going on vision and having no measurements of yours, yours appears to be narrower than mine.

Looks like you too measurements further back than what I did.  I took it from where the bend ends and only the flat part of the cover was.

My car is 4/30/69 & I put the narrow cover in & had the long bumper guards....

Im curious now.....let me look in the parts book to see if they actually list 2 different covers....

EDIT---after a bit of searching all I could find were 2 different bulb socket part #'s that made reference to "before April 1,1969 & After April 1, 1969"

After that page there is a "notes" page then the interior trim catalog....

next question..... is there a part number on the tail light cover or was it one of those sticker type jobs that probably fell off 20 some years ago

Would not surprise me if it was just a tag that was wire tied on.
