Black looks sinister.

If I did another 68 I have it in Medium Green Poly (TT-1) with a black vinyl top and Magnum 500s.

Freshly painted B3 is awesome, go with what you got. And of course, a new black vinyl top is the way to go.

My kinda answer.  :yesnod:

Sublime/Sixpack

The existing color combo looks good, especially with the interior being blue.  New paint and vinyl roof would make it look real sharp.  :Twocents:

But to answer your question for a '68; I'd say Black, Silver, Light Met. Blue, or Aqua.

Even though there are many great colors for a 1968 Dodge I agree that it makes since to keep the original color, especially when it is a nice blue color. I like the B5 better but then again the factory color looks pretty cool. Beside once repainted it will look awesome. :2thumbs:

Good Luck,

Likely a stupid question, but have you tried polishing up the "dull" blue that you have?  The shade itself looks nice in the pic you posted.

68charger383

I'm with him on keeping it blue.....B3 or B5

I was going to convert my interior to black, but decided to keep it blue, glad I did.

You've got the build sheet - I'd make it stock. Blues look great on 68 Chargers. Light blue is also incredibly easy to keep looking clean (compared to black and white especially). Other colors I like are dark blue, bright blue, and black with that nice blue interior. White would really set it off.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I like that stock blue color ALOT! why change it?.. repainted and the few details fixed like a new carpet and loseing the back speakers under the package tray and adding a fresh V. top and you gotta winner.. and when folks go Wow! is that original you can say "yup"...
and I'd like to see even more pics of you beautiful charger if you please...  :yesnod:

Chatt69chgr

The triple black car is very hard to beat.  And red is always a good choice for a muscle car.  I also like the yellow with the bumblebee stripes.  Kind of think that the 68 and 69 yellow is a little pale.  But the 70 bananna is a little too intense (but OK for the superbee).  If you went yellow, warming it up slightly would make a real nice looker.

In the end, you need to make it the color that you like because if you don't really like it you will never really be happy with it.  There is certainly nothing wrong with the blue's mentioned.  And your interior already looks good so you won't have to spend money changing that-----you can spend it on your next project.

bill440rt

I've ALWAYS liked that pale yellow color like on RECHRGD's car. Looks beautiful on a Charger set off by a black top & stripe.
2nd choice: turquoise, white top/interior/stripe.

And, oh yeah, RED!!!!

My vote is the same as KJ's(KingJoop)!  Besides, he knows the two little hot rods!  My car has a custom color, but that information is on another thread.  So, you could say my opinion is biased.  It appears you have the build sheet, fender tag, and more importantly a nice complete car.  My vote is to keep the color of your car the original color it came in from the factory unless you truly detest it.  I think that shade of blue is extremely nice!  See the above photo for proof!

My '68 is PP1 red, but I actually prefer the GG1 dark green metallic.  I know it's not everyones favorite, but that actually makes it better in my book.  I gotta agree with some of the other folks here.  That light blue would look great if it wasn't so sun baked and faded.
