I am currently using a Mcleod Street disc #260151 (organic)with a Perf. Pressure Plate #360153. I am thinking of running the Perf. disc #260851 which is a Kevlar with asbestos disc. Is anybody running this disc? Is there any chatter? How does it grab? How do you like it? Is it ok to run this disc on the street?

Have you talked to Red on the tech line?

Sorry, mine's still in the box so, technically, I'm not "using" it. I would have thought that more people would be though. In this particular case, I'd recommend that you check on Moparts since that's where I got a lot of my information before buying.

I posted the same question a couple of months ago and got about 3 replies.

I am in process of building my 68 R/T and will probably go with a Centerforce setup, either the Centerforce II of the dual disc.  I read a tech article not too long ago and the Centerforce clutch setups got great reviews.  I can't remember where I read it (MOPAR Muscle, MOPAR Action, or Hemmings Muscle).

Troy what part # disc are you going to use?

OK definately go to MOPARTS and do some research, like Troy recommends!  Time to rethink my plan from what I read.  Lot have people have had short life on their CF setups.  Take back what I said earlier Mc may be the way to go.

I have heard of good things about Centerforce but I like using Mcleod setups.

I don't have my Mcloed #260853 in the car yet but hopefully soon. I didn't realize it was a 12 X 1-3/16 X 18 DUAL PERF when buying it. Have tryed to find out if this clutch will work with the 11" flywheel & pressure plate, or do you have to buy all new hardware. I can't help my self in wanting to use it, 12" should work well.  :drive:

It should, I think it's the same one I have. I'm not sure if it will work with the 11" PP but I know it should work on the flywheel. I'll check the numbers when I get to the garage.

That would be great if it is the same because it would give me a better idea on how this is going to work. If the PP is different what kind do i need? Thanks

Chryco Psycho

there are 2 11" clutches , the up to 69 version uses a 143 tooth flywheel , probably this is the one you have which has the same bolt paattern as the 12" , the other sytem is the 10.95 which uses the 130 tooth flywheel & is physically smaller & uses a smaller bolt pattern so the 2 will not interchange

I am not a fan of Cforce

I am running a McLeod clutch ....     Disc #260871 and Pressure Plate #360709...    numbers are different because i needed a 26 spline for the Tremec trans so I dont know if this helps at all...    but I am very pleased with my set up - hooks very well and isnt really a bear to drive in everyday traffic.

Tried to look up your part number with no luck Rolling_Thunder. What is the size of your disc & flywheel? Found the pressure plate number. Trying to get a four speed together does get a bit confusing, but it is worth it I guess. Thanks

Rolling_Thunder

the disc if for a HP diaphram disc 1-1/8x 26   11"  (GM Disc)

Pressure Plate is a Diaphram unit 10.95"  1X23    (Mopar pressure Plate)

Here's the numbers on mine:
360250 pressure plate (discontinued?)
260853 clutch disc
16061 throwout bearing

You can find the numbers on the McLeod web site:

You could also call their tech line - they seem to be very helpful.
