My fuel filler is sandblasted and prepared but I was thinking if the paint I'm planning to put on it wouldn't resolve in the tank? :scratchchin:
Should I better leave the piece going into the tank unpainted?

Thats what I would do as if you paint it, gasoline would probably get disolved and then be into your tank.  Personally, I would install it, put a piece of tape or mark the tube in some what to know where is outside of the tank and then paint that section only that will be outside of the tank.

shouldn't the filler neck be left natural metal, not painted?

they were galvanized from the factory, but if he sandblasted it, he have to paint it.

Indeed, it was to ugly not to sandblast it and now it's white from the metallproduct they use afterwards.

Next Time................Try tumbling an original. They turn out pretty nice. Leave sandblasting to the tractor trailer bodyshops. It is way too aggressive for anything on our cars.

Do we talk about the same thing? If I wouldn't have sandblasted a lot of my parts I would never get that rust of from certain parts. :scratchchin:

Glass bead blasting is non-invasive. Sand blasting can heat, distort, and remove more than rust.

I switched to glass beads in my blast cabinet years ago and they will remove rust without harming the metal.  Be very carfeful not to breathe the dust as it is very bad for you.
