Well-heard a crash out back in the backyard today. My friend Joe was using a space out back to house a 68 Charger he's restoring. The weight of 18 inches of frozen snow...well-the pics say it all.... ::) :o :icon_smile_blackeye: :icon_smile_dissapprove: :rotz:

OUCH! I'll be using a tent building to store my Duster but I'll be out there everyday in the snow clearing it off so this kinda stuff dosen't happen. Looks like the car got damaged...lets not hope too bad.

Did the Charger get damaged any??

Hey, I think you left caps lock on.

MoparManJim

Let me see here, one question comes to mind. Why did you and your friend leave the tent "get" 18 inchs of snow on it let alone let it freeze up there?

I have a tent over my car right now and I been keeping an eye on for afew days because of this issue. I have a long board that I use to push upwards to get the snow to slide off the side. It's been to cold out side latly for me to do any work on the car.

Did your friend had windows in the charger? thats all I can think of that could have gotting damage if they are any in the charger.

I have yet to see one of those soft garages designed to handle a snow load. I sure wouldn't have trusted one. They make good storage buildings similar to the versa-tube which are designed to hold a snow load though, in case your interested in something decent to house your projects like that.

I had one of those cheapo "ghetto tents" when I had my Mustang convertible....in the winter I would take out one of the leg sections to drop it down closer to the car so it didnt have that far to "fall" if it ever did collapse.
I was constantly clearing snow off it....too damn stressful......almost glad I sold the car to get rid of the tent ;)

Any updates on the car? We lost one of our cherry trees to snow today...so I went and cleaned the roof of the garage off. Not fun considering we have 1 meter of snow. :o

I have a personal dislike of tents. They're great at first since most of us have been working on the car exposed to the weather then stuff like this happens. My metal pole tent (with sides on it) blew completely off my charger without touching it and landing on the truck some 20 feet away. The wind then continued it blow causing it to rub all over the truck, denting, dinging, scraping, and even etching the glass. Oh and this was all at 3:45 in the morning. It took probably an hour to get off the truck and collapse so it wouldn't do anymore damage.
Needless to say I am quite jealous of nice garages.
Glad to hear the charger survived though the prospect of more bodywork must be a bummer eh?

"Cherry Charger" and "tent building" should not be in the same sentence.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Can I buy the Dart in the background grown up in weeds? :D :D
