Costco Tool Box - anyone here buy/have one? Impressions?

I may pick up one myself (or tell the Mrs.  ). Seems sturdy enough. Anyone have one??

What kind of slides do the drawers have?  bearings, metal to metal, etc.....  looks sturdy enough  and powder coated too.
Where's this MDF work surface it says it has?  I guess if the drawers are bearing type it would really be a great deal.  Guess it all depends on the usage it's gonna get(ie: abuse)  Price is right for sure for a 41"

The MDF liners come with. The sliders...don't know. Probably bearings as the drawers slide easily and securely.

I hear that Moffit is going to be turned into a car dealership complex. Just sickening....
St. James...have not been by since the accident. Probably was rebuilt. I remember their burgers...

I hear ya there......The sucky part about tool boxes is that they don't make ya any money as opposed to the tools inside.

Love it, works great and is really solid.
This is coming from a guy that took apart his car without an organized toolbox so I can honestly say its the best investment into this project yet.

Ive seen similar sized ones from Kobalt at Lowe's, might be worth checking into.

It slides out from right in the middle (there's a red sticker on the tray part in a picture above). The catch on the tray could be improved so it stays in better, that's my only issue with it. The drawers do roll out, no grindin/shoving required so my guess is they are ball bearing.

I've seen a couple around work and they seem pretty decent.

I have a Mac Tech 1000 but I kind of wish I had the one I saw at Lowe's the other day with the built-in stereo system and refrigerator. I think it was around $800 or $900 for both the top and bottom box. Craftsman makes some pretty good boxes for the money too.

I don't have one, but I've seen them in the store and I like what I saw.

My little test for tool boxes like that: pull the drawer out, paying attention to how it slides - and when it's out, shake it back and forth a little bit. If it feels solid, and not tinny, then I'll spend the time looking over the rest of the box for features, craftsmanship, etc...

For me, if the drawer feels tinny and loose, I won't like the tool box even if it had 100 bells and whistles.

That one passed the shake test easily.
